Too Many Faulty Penalties for the EPL Elite Teams This Weekend.
Sometimes Referees makes it so difficult to appreciate their efforts during the matches. I was able to watch Norwich vs Manchester United yesterday and later on I went on to see other highlights of yesterday's matches when I had some spectators talking about how yesterday's EPL matches had a lot of penalties involvements.
Sincerely, many of the penalties that were awarded yesterday weren't supposed to be awarded. And in that corner, it simply means that many of these elite teams ought to settle for draw as their best results yesterday.
Liverpool won by a single goal from the penalty that was awarded to Salah but sincerely, after I had evaluated the occurrence that led to the penalty personally, I am not so convinced that it should have been awarded. The whole situation with Salah and the defender was so clumsy and I personally do not see the faults of the defender in the acrobatic moves Salah gave in the 18 yards box.
I am not saying these referees did this intentionally to make these elite teams to win but the truth is, VAR was available and if they were used, it would have been a fair judgment after all because I do not see the possibility of awarding such penalties after a VAR review.
Did you see Chelsea's match against Leeds United?
I am yet to see someone who would tell me Chelsea deserved the win yesterday. Awarding Chelsea the late and third penalty in yesterday's match was really unfair and it really pricked my heart.
I am not saying this out of hatred for Chelsea but sincerely, they robbed Leeds yesterday. There was even a fight on the pitch after the match yesterday because it was too obvious even to the players that Rudiger just played a scam card to secure that penalty and for the referee to have awarded it with using the VAR was another painful thing. But in all that happened Chelsea still won.
I wonder how much of a balance the league would have felt yesterday if only these referees had allowed Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester City all settle for draw yesterday.
Manchester City had a very tough and unlucky game against Wolves yesterday and a draw would have been a fair result because, for the fact that City was awarded a penalty from a ball to hand contact should have also warranted Wolves a penalty in the second half too but if these acts and decision makings were actually planned out, one can't tell but it's really bad and unfair.
THERE WAS NO JUSTICE IN MANY PENALTIES AWARDED YESTERDAY, BUT IT'S FOOTBALL!
Manchester United also won with a single goal from Cristiano's penalty strike. I am not so impressed by their performance at all but I'm just glad it was a win and a clean sheet well deserved by De Gea. Since Ralf's arrival, United has been playing with so much of the possession in mind and honestly yesterday, I was expecting so many goals in the match but then, the match made me realize a lot about United's attacking force.
In the place of creativity, United has so much to be worked on and improved. Bruno Fernandes is yet to have himself back on his best form and likewise Sancho, and these are the two major creatives United has at the moment. If both of them aren't in good form yet, I am seeing it so difficult for United to secure more goals this season. The likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester City are with either almost 20 goals or over 20 goals while United is just left with 2 positive goals so far this season in the EPL.
I hope Pogba and Cavani gets into the squad in no time and as for Van De Beek, I think as a brother or friend, I would advise him to leave the club but as it is now, I only hope Ralf would find a way to make him useful on the pitch. Obviously, Beek can't play the No. 10 role and I think that only means Ralf needs to evaluate his formation well and make it possible for Beek to be able to play the No. 6 role.
It's only a matter of time, United would be fine!
All snapshots were taken from various highlights of yesterday's matches.
I wasn't impressed with how United played yesterday either. Norwich were the better team.
There are so many inconsistencies in the EPL. Last year they cancelled Cavani's goal because McTominay touched Son's face. Sterling did the same and they said he was protecting himself. Shocking penalty calls yesterday.
So So shocking calls!
I'm just so pained.
That's the inconsistency that annoys me.
Well, I personally believe much would change with Ralf's impact.
I really believe so too.
It was the penalties that kept all of the top 3 in their places, none can accuse another of refereeing help.
And the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United, and Tottenham would be happy about that you guess? They need these teams to drop points somehow.
Well then teams like United, Arsenal and others should beat top teams. The penalties this weekend were well marked in my opinion.
All the penalties? Maybe you should attempt the highlights again friend.
