what it felt like experiencing Earthquake for the first time yesterday in Japan
yesterday for what I thought was an alarm turn out to be an emergency alarm for earthquake, I was already in very dip sleep when I was awoken by the alarm and followed was shaking of a strong earthquake, I was so frightened that I jump out of my bed. The first thing that came to my mind was my family in Nigeria.
You can never tell how good you are in prayers until you are between life and death. As I sprang into the living room the Tv was shaking, I have never been in a situation where buildings are swung to the left and right. Mine was indistinguishable from such a situation.
From an article, I have read and information gotten from friends. I was made to understand that, in such a situation, it`s advisable to bend under a table and open the doors for safety.
I was still under the table for some minutes for fear of being crushed, so I became impatience by the endless circumstances and decided to put on the Tv for more information, it was there, and then I was struck with the realities.
The realities of the language barrier, I couldn`t decipher what they were saying but I could see the video clips of offices and buildings shaking.
Later it stopped, I felt so relieved. I couldn`t sleep, this morning I read the English news and was made to understand that my territory was magnitude 4 while other territories were magnitude 6.
Some trains couldn`t move, which left people stranded yesterday.
I`m just wondering if I had experienced such fright, what would the people in territories of magnitude 6 feel.
Your first serious quake bro! Now you will get used to them them the longer you stay and won’t even move when it shakes. Not a good thing but that is what happens. Stay safe!
