Having children means having eggs

In recent times the world has been in permanent turbulence, from the environment with climatic changes to encompassing society itself. In each existential crisis, the question may arise: who is going to have children in these conditions? However, nature is very wise, and has endowed each species with the necessary skills to adapt to the most rugged conditions and with a force of incredible will we do everything necessary to guarantee the continuity of the species that the good Lord has created. But I think that to have children implies having eggs.

En los últimos tiempos el mundo ha estado en una permanente turbulencia, desde el medio ambiente con cambios climáticos hasta abarcar a la propia sociedad. En cada crisis existencial puede surgir la pregunta ¿quién va a tener hijos en estas condiciones?, sin embargo, la naturaleza es muy sabia, y ha dotado a cada especie de las habilidades necesarias para adaptarse a las condiciones más agrestes y con una fuerza de voluntad increíble hacemos todo lo necesario para garantizar la continuidad de las especies que el buen Dios ha creado. Pero pienso que para tener hijos implica tener huevos.

At first we noticed a slightly strange behavior, his presence in this area of the house was not normal. Every time we went out on the porch of the house, there they were. We were observing how they were showing their love. Until we concluded that they were already a couple, it was almost imminent to know that the other phase was coming.

Al principio notamos una conducta un poco extraña, no era normal su presencia en esta área de la casa. Cada vez que salíamos al porche de la casa, allí estaban. Fuimos observando cómo iban mostrando su amor. Hasta que concluimos que ya eran una pareja, era casi inminente saber que se venía la otra fase.

Nuestros tortolos comenzaron a probar distintos sitios de los que sería su futuro nido de amor. Los vimos posarse en diferentes cestas que cuelgan en nuestro jardín, creo que en esta pareja hay algo de memoria ancestral, ya que en el pasado hace unos años otra pareja había tenido sus huevos en una cesta de helechos que hoy no existe. En esta ocasión la seleccionada fue una cesta que tiene un tipo de helecho que tiene sus hojas en forma de agujas, y además tiene unas espinitas en la punta que hacen muy incómodo su manejo. Además, cuando se secan sus tallos son muy puntiagudos que al tacto de una mano humana fácilmente se entierran en la piel. Pero así es el amor, no importa las adversidades, mientras estés acompañado de tu pareja se puede superar lo que sea para darle a tus hijos un mundo mejor.

The potoca or tortolita is a bird that has been domesticated on its own. It is becoming more and more common to observe it in the urbanizations, its presence in the gardens of the houses gives a touch of plainness, of being in the Monaguenses savannahs. This bird has the behavior of having a partner for life, something that few humans do, and by instinct they return to the place where they were born to reproduce. But to have a child implies having eggs, so they dedicate themselves to building a precarious nest. This nest must protect them from environmental conditions, by the way, now we have rains in times of drought, which makes them seek to make their nests in places high off the ground.

La potoca o tortolita es un ave que si ha ido domesticando por su propia cuenta. Cada vez es más común observarla en las urbanizaciones, su presencia en los jardines de las casas da un toque de llanura, de estar en las sabanas monaguenses. Esta ave tiene la conducta de tener una pareja para toda la vida, cosa que pocos humanos hacemos, y por instinto regresan al sitio donde nacieron para ellos reproducirse. Pero para tener hijo implica tener huevos, por lo que se dedican a construir un precario nido. Este nido debe resguardarlos de las condiciones ambientales, por cierto que ahora tenemos lluvias en épocas de sequía, lo cual hace que ellas busquen hacer sus nidos en sitos elevados del suelo.

This domestication makes them almost ignore human beings, and they lay their eggs in places that are easily accessible to people. I have noticed that when we approach the nest, only the male takes flight to perch at a distance of a few meters, but enough to feel safe, while the female, like a good mother, stays in the nest taking care of the eggs, almost unperturbed by our presence.

No matter how difficult times are, no matter how difficult the situation is in your environment, you have to maintain hope, willpower, to create and maintain our family, because having children means having eggs.

Esta domesticación les hace casi que ignorar a los seres humanos, y ponen sus huevos en sitos de fácil acceso de las personas. He notado que cuando nos acercamos al nido solo el macho levanta vuelo para posarse a una distancia de unos metros, pero suficiente para sentirse seguro, mientras que la hembra como buena madre se queda en el nido cuidando los huevos casi sin inmutarse por nuestra presencia.

Por más difíciles que sean los tiempos, por más difícil que se encuentre la situación en tu entorno hay que mantener la esperanza, la fuerza de voluntad, para crear y mantener a nuestra familia, por para tener hijos implica tener huevos.
