The Road to Coffee Conversion
Hello Cinnamon Cup Coffee community! I was going through my Hive feeds and saw a post that was published in this community.
Having read the community's rule and the coffee prompts, I decided to join in, and this is my first post in the community.
The Debatable Prompt says: Your friend tells you that they have never tried coffee because they don’t understand the allure of it. Do you try to convince them to try it? Why or why not?
I am going to respond the prompt as if I am directly replying to what my friend told me.
Hey Jenny! I get why you're hesitant to try coffee. People seem to worship the stuff like it’s some magical elixir. Meanwhile you look at it and don't really understand the big deal or appeal. Believe me, I felt the same way for a long time! Coffee smelled nice and all, but actually drinking it? No thanks - seemed bitter and gross.
However, over the years as I experimented more with different roasts and flavors, I developed a tasty morning ritual. See, coffee has a huge range when it comes to strength and flavors notes. There are mellow, creamy kinds and hardcore jet fuel kinds. With some trial and error, I found ones suited to my preferences. And I bet there’s a coffee out there you’d genuinely like too.
Another thing I’ve come to enjoy is the whole process - taking some time to slowly prepare a good cup. I use a simple drip machine, nothing fancy. But making coffee has become this peaceful thing I look forward to. I'll admit the caffeine gives me a little boost too, though I don't go overboard chugging pot after pot. Just one mug’s worth perks me up.
Now again, I’m no coffee addict who will pressure you to join my club or anything. If you try it and still think it tastes nasty, okay then! No big deal - to each their own. Not everyone has to love the stuff. I just know that coffee gets a bad reputation from those high-strung Starbucks types, but there’s a cozy cup out there for everyone. That’s why I suggest giving it one open-minded shot. You might surprise yourself!
I think the key for any coffee newbie is starting small, sweet, and creamy. Don’t just gulp down black coffee on the first go - you’ll hate it! Instead, brew something mild like a Breakfast Blend. Add a good amount of milk and sugar too. This will temper the bitter taste.
Drink slowly and see if you detect any subtle flavors you enjoy. You can always add more coffee and less milk in later attempts if you want something bolder.
So let me know if you want to go on a little coffee trial run! I'll fix us up something smooth and sweet - no hardcore dark roast on the first try. And even if you end up deciding coffee's still not your cup of tea so to speak, no worries at all, my friend! I'll take you out for hot chocolate instead.
In that response, I am trying not to convince my friend or make her lose interest. So that would be my response in a way I think is best.

This is awesome! You've mentioned different ways coffee can be taken as a coffee newbie, and that's very lovely.
Coffee is very good, hehe. I am a huge fan.

I haven’t tried coffee before and like you said it already taste bitter even though it smells nice
Someway I’m convinced to start my coffee journey thinking about how I’ll carefully know all the good things that make up my coffee in the cup

Have you ever written a monologue script for a radio jingle or voiceover for a tv commercial. You definitely have the niche for it. I love the way you presented your opinion to your friend without trying to influence her but just being open minded about coffee without attributing too much importance to it.
You narrated it in way that will make her understand that, trying it out or not is definitely your choice.
