PERSONAL FINANCE: FINISHING WHERE I STARTED

There have been a lot of talks about SEO on leofinance recently, and as a creator who is keen on adding value and being of value to the community, I deemed it fit to revisit an SEO I started last year. I am in the habit of starting things I don’t finish. In my defence, it is hard making money and learning new things/skills. When push comes to shove, you pick one for the other. However, we are not about excuses.

Speaking about developing new skill sets. It is becoming more crucial for me to develop new skillsets and explore the freelancing sphere. I was reviewing my finances of late and it dawn on me that I need to grow my income significantly (by 100%) if i want to achieve some of my major goals for the next 14 months. This is something I have known for quite some time now but I have not had breathing space this year. A lot of distractions have been coming my way and they are mainly financial.

The default response to most finances is to cut down spending habits, but I live quite minimal for that to be an issue. The solution for me is to increase my income by doing the things I enjoy–writing and coding. This will be my priority for now. The major downside is that I may not be able to blog as much as I should to keep my income in a comfortable position, but it is a worthy sacrifice in the long run.

This is a bit weird for me because I am admitting and agreeing to relegate the one thing I have been doing for most of my adult life for income. Now I understand what it felt like when I told my partner to quit her low paying job for something better. It seemed like a no brainer for me but putting myself in her shoes now, I see how difficult that decision might have been.

I wasn’t planning on talking about this. The goal was to write about SEO and platforms to learn about it for free(maybe in another article) but one idea leads to another. With most of my posts on personal finance, I try to find clarity and this is the best way of thinking for me–penning down my thoughts. It adds some tangibility to them and also allows me to revisit them at intervals.

I will encourage other lions to document their financial journey. It is not only about crypto, Leo, or the bags you are holding. Talking about other aspects of your life that is helping you achieve financial freedom adds some depth to your content and more other community members can relate with you or even proffer solutions

So conclusion, I have added a couple of things to my To-Do list for the year 2022. Most of them involve completing courses I started about a year ago, so I can build the skills I need to develop projects of my own or apply for freelancing gigs.

What steps are you taking to add value to your life and your community? Share with me in the comment section.

I want to learn processional photography, then probably own a studio. As for Leo, I think people are tilted to writing about what's more lucrative unlike personal finance goals that really isn't. What's there is that we cannot all write SEO quality as everyone has their role to play. So I just digress a little.

True that. However as a writer (and one that wants to improve) I need to develop new skills around my passion so I can be relevant both within and outside the leofinance ecosystem

Well, I think I am adding value to the community by being active every day and commenting. My life is just the usual work then my hustle is Hive.
