Review: Luxo Skillz - The Secret Challenger, la paciencia y su vínculo a lo trascendente (ESP/ENG)

¡Ey, quisieron líderes! Soy NoDragón, luego habrá tiempo de presentarme como debe de Shrek y sepan quien soy, hoy hay otros asuntos. Quiero hablarles sobre la importancia de hacer las cosas uno mismo. Sí, ya sé que suena como una frase de motivación de Instagram, pero escúchenme, ser un artista independiente es difícil.

Muchas veces nos sentimos tentados a seguir las tendencias o imitar a nuestros ídolos, pero eso no es lo que nos hará trascendentes, la verdadera originalidad y el sonido específico de cada uno de nosotros solo se puede encontrar a través de la experiencia y el autodescubrimiento y eso tomará tiempo, paciencia y trabajo duro.

Si vemos la originalidad como una meta filosófica a la que todos deberíamos estar dispuestos a buscar en nuestras vidas, notaremos que es el simple hecho de caminar en esa senda cultural y de comunidad lo que nos brinda la chispa de creatividad que nos hará únicos, sin embargo, también es posible encontrarla en otras circunstancias, pero lo importante de esto es seguir haciendo lo que te apasiona.

Luxo Skillz aka Maldito Verga, también conocido como Trippin’moods en su faceta como productor es originario de Villahermosa Tabasco, radicando en la CDMX desde hace aproximadamente 8 años, tiene gusto por la producción en equipos análogos, siendo un gran amante del sampling y los tapes; durante su carrera ha experimentado constantemente con el sonido y diversos géneros desde el Hip Hop, el footwork, R&B, hasta una especie de regaetton minimalista, entre otros. También es CEO del netlabel La LACRA, en donde trabaja con diversos artistas en la realización de materiales audiovisuales.

Como soy un Dragón milenario he seguido la carrera de Luxo desde sus inicios y este disco me ha contagiado de una gran y bonita nostalgia, por que representa la victoria de la paciencia, de no desesperarse y encontrar el mejor momento para lanzar una obra como esta, claro, esto no será un sesgo a la hora de evaluar The Secret Challenger.

Uno de los discos que más me sorprendieron del 2022, y es que luxo se limita a rapear solo durante los 18 tracks que nos hablan de las experiencias vividas a lo largo de lo que a mi criterio sucede durante el proceso creativo del disco. Para quienes lo conocemos, encontramos mucho sentido a frases, puede que para un escucha nuevo podría parecer una línea mas, pero es que las líneas aleatorias no existen en este álbum, todas te cuentan algo, pero hay que entender la personalidad del Maldito Verga para que en contexto tengan mucho mas sentido.

Los únicos tracks donde escucharemos voces distintas serán Maldito Verda junto a Mariel Valdes y Valhalla con Andrea Valencia, pero solo en los coros y estos coros son bastante cortos, agregando también que el 72% de los tracks están producidos por el bajo su alias Trippind Moods, The Secret Challenge es una obra totalmente impregnada por el artista y uno de los discos que están a la vanguardia de la escena mexicana de Hip Hop.

One of the albums that surprised me the most in 2022 is that luxo limits himself to rapping only during the 18 tracks that tell you about the experiences lived throughout what, in my opinion, happens during the creative process of the album, for those who We know that we find a lot of meaning in phrases that for a new listener could seem like just another line and that is that random lines do not exist in this album, they all tell you something, of course you have to understand the personality of Maldito Verga so that the context makes much more sense .
