Entrevista: Zaeg - ÓPALO (ESP/ENG)

Zaeg es uno de los mejores beatmakers del sureste mexicano, miembro del colectivo y sello discográfico No Hype Records, tuvimos la oportunidad de conversar con el y nos contó sobre Ópalo su mas reciente material.

Que tal líder como estás se que no estás pasando por una de tus mejores etapas pero quiero decirte que puedes contar con nuestro apoyo líder y que todo ira mejorando a medida que pase el tiempo, pero bueno realmente estamos aquí para hablar de tu proyecto como productor y beatmaker, que tal está Zaeg?

Zaeg: Muchas gracias líder por su constante apoyo, me encuentro muy bien tanto física y mentalmente estable, podría decir que nunca me había sentido tan bien.

Y bueno líder la primera pregunta, ¿por qué nombrar Ópalo al disco que estás promocionando en estos momentos?

Zaeg: Me gusta mucho el trasfondo de esta piedra, a pesar de ser de los piedras preciosas mas caras y cotizadas realmente no son muy famosas como los diamantes, además todo ese misticismo que encierra me llamó bastante la atención, déjame que te cuente un poco sobre esto y cómo aborde el concepto en el proyecto. Se dice que dentro de esta piedra se puede ver el universo y quien la tenga cerca sacará a flote todos su dotes artísticos o sus talentos destacando entre los demás, claro que esto solo es una creencia pues realmente el talento siempre está en nosotros y depende de nosotros como aplicamos ese recurso en nuestras vidas, por eso existe gente con talento estancada y gente disciplinada lográndolo, el talento no lo es todo. En cuanto a como lo aborde pensé en buscar tracks empolvados que son muy buenos pero que no se han sabido apreciar, ya sea por que de inicio no tuvieron un beat original o no se logró concretar ese proyecto, junto con dracks creímos en el talento de esos mc's y decidimos darle una nueva vida a esos tracks, un resurgimiento y aire diferente, así obtuvimos el primer track Cognac, un track elegante apreciado por muchos y conocido por pocos y me gusta pensar que cada track es como un lado del Ópalo, cada track tiene su color y su ventana al universo.

Hemos escuchado ya dos avances de Ópalo, en el primero escuchamos a Michael Krueguer, en el segundo a Neaz, lo que nos da a entender que el común denominador del disco será de mcs serios y ritmos drumless. ¿Qué tal la experiencia de trabajar con diferentes mcs pero en una misma línea?

Zaeg: Sin duda ha sido una experiencia reveladora, junto con la dirección ejecutiva de Dracks Meckanickz hemos logrado tener una sinergia perfecta en los tracks y tambien fuimos muy cuidadosos en cada sonido y elección de mcs, cada beat es un sentimiento diferente unos mas elegantes, otros mas asesinos, otros mas sensuales pero todos en conjunto llevan la línea de que es un sonido caro.

Ópalo sale meses después del disco en colaboración con Bexer, miembro también de Rapzodia, fue este MC quien propuso la conexión con los MCs que saldrán en el disco? o ¿Cuál ha sido la principal motivación para contactarlos?

Zaeg: Todo empezó como un día de ocio, luego de ese lanzamiento me he mantenido muy en contacto con mis homs de rapzodia los quiero mucho y ellos ya saben la forma en que yo trabajo. Un dia Dracks y Mike estaban conversando sobre un track que él había rapeado en un podcast, hablaron de cómo les gustaba y se preguntaron sobre qué pasaría si le diéramos ese beat que merecía esa letra, por supuesto pensaron en mí de inmediato para hacerle un trabajo tipo sastre a la medida y les encantó tanto el resultado que asi empezó a surgir todo este proyecto.

Para la banda que te escuche por primera vez ¿cómo defines tu proyecto, cómo definirías Zaeg?

Zaeg: En cuanto a mi persona soy una persona muy alegre disfruto mucho el convivir con la banda y conocerlos, sin embargo, cuando se trata de mis proyecto soy muy cuidadoso en todos los aspectos, pero ojo no por eso voy a ser un maleducado, me gusta llevar un seguimiento de todos los proyectos en conjunto con los mcs involucrados además que eso fortalece la amistad, en mi opinión, se logra un mejor resultado que se refleja en el trabajo final.

Y qué tal el proceso creativo, veo que estás trabajando con Dracks desde la parte de logística, eso hace que te puedas concentrar mejor en el aspecto creativo, pero en este proceso te has encontrado con algún problema o experiencia no grata?

Zaeg: Dracks es el director y productor ejecutivo del proyecto, es como mi contraparte, el que dice las cosas que yo no puedo, me ha ayudado mucho pues e aprendido mucho de él tanto en saber ser objetivo, lograr conexiones y valorar más mi trabajo, el "Né" sabe cosas y si se tiene que hacer algo solo basta con mover botones en su teléfono, es una persona muy leal, buena y muy misteriosa.☝️😒 (utiliza esos emojis)

¿Cuáles son tus planes a futuro?

Zaeg: Tengo muchísimos pero el principal es de dar una mejor exposición a mi imagen de artista, tengo un muy buen plan de creación de contenido visual, como cápsulas, sesiones de beats y temas informativos con el objetivo de llegar a mas personas no solo por medio de música.

¿Se podría adelantar el siguiente MC o sigue siendo top secret?

Zaeg: Me gusta mantener el misterio de todo, no sabes qué color te va a salir cuando giras el ópalo en los rayos de luz.

¿Con qué hardware estás trabajando las instrumentales?

Zaeg: Estoy usando mi querido Mpc Renaissance con mi software Mpc Software 2.0, y también Reason 5 en algunos casos que se requiere de precisión molecular.

¿Crees que Oda no sea capaz de matar a Sabo, creo que si está vivo sería ya muy predecible para GODa? ¿Cuál es tu teoría favorita de One Piece?

Zaeg: Ya no soportaría otra supuesta muerte de Sabo, aunque sí creo que sigue vivo y GODa solo quiere ver el fandom arder para mas placer, mi teoría favorita es la de que estuvimos hablando tu y yo el otro día acerca de que Vegapunk es un gigante que abrirá el arco de Elbaf, creo que tiene demasiados fundamentos para que se cumpla.

How ​​are you, leader? I know that you are not going through one of your best stages, but I want to tell you that you can count on our leading support and that everything will improve as time goes by, but hey, we are really here to talk about your project. as a producer and beatmaker, how is Zaeg?

Zaeg: Thank you very much leader for your constant support, I feel very well both physically and mentally stable, I could say that I have never felt so well.

And well leader the first question, why name Ópalo to the album that you are promoting at the moment?

Zaeg: I really like the background of this stone, despite being one of the most expensive and valued gemstones, they are not really as famous as diamonds, plus all that mysticism that it contains caught my attention, let me tell you a little about this and how I approached the concept in the project. It is said that within this stone you can see the universe and whoever has it close to it will bring out all their artistic gifts or talents, standing out among the others, of course this is only a belief because really talent is always in us and depends on how we apply that resource in our lives, that's why there are people with stagnant talent and disciplined people achieving it, talent is not everything. As for how I approached it, I thought of looking for dusty tracks that are very good but that have not been appreciated, either because they did not have an original beat at the beginning or that project was not achieved, together with dracks we believed in the talent of those mc's and we decided to give those tracks a new life, a resurgence and a different air, so we got the first Cognac track, an elegant track appreciated by many and known by few and I like to think that each track is like one side of the Opal, each track has its color and its window to the universe.

We have already heard two previews of Ópalo, in the first we listen to Michael Krueguer, in the second to Neaz, which gives us to understand that the common denominator of the album will be serious mcs and drumless rhythms. How about the experience of working with different mcs but on the same line?

Zaeg: Without a doubt it has been a revealing experience, together with the executive direction of Dracks Meckanickz we have managed to have a perfect synergy in the tracks and we were also very careful in each sound and choice of mcs, each beat is a different feeling some more elegant, others more murderous, others more sensual but all together they carry the line that it is an expensive sound.

Ópalo comes out months after the album in collaboration with Bexer, also a member of Rapzodia, was it this MC who proposed the connection with the MCs that will appear on the album? o What has been the main motivation for contacting them?

Zaeg: It all started as a day of leisure, after that release I have kept in close contact with my homies from rapzodia I love them very much and they already know the way I work. One day Dracks and Mike were talking about a track that he had rapped on a podcast, they talked about how they liked it and wondered what would happen if we gave him that beat that deserved those lyrics, of course they immediately thought of me to do a job Tailor-made type and they loved the result so much that this whole project began to emerge.

For the band that listens to you for the first time, how would you define your project, how would you define Zaeg?

Zaeg: As for me, I am a very happy person. I really enjoy living with the band and getting to know them. However, when it comes to my projects, I am very careful in all aspects, but beware, that is not why I am going to being rude, I like to keep track of all the projects together with the mcs involved, and that also strengthens the friendship, in my opinion, a better result is achieved that is reflected in the final work.

And how about the creative process, I see that you are working with Dracks from the logistics side, that allows you to concentrate better on the creative aspect, but in this process have you encountered any problems or unpleasant experiences?

Zaeg: Dracks is the director and executive producer of the project, he is like my counterpart, the one who says things that I can't, he has helped me a lot because I have learned a lot from him both in being objective, making connections and valuing my work more, he know things and if you have to do something you just have to move buttons on your phone, he's a very loyal, good and very mysterious person.☝️😒

What are your future plans?

Zaeg: I have many but the main one is to give a better exposure to my image as an artist, I have a very good plan for creating visual content, such as capsules, beat sessions and informative topics with the aim of reaching more people not only through music.

Could the next MC be announced or is it still top secret?

Zaeg: I like to keep everything mysterious, you don't know what color is going to come out when you spin the opal in the rays of light.

What hardware are you working with the instrumentals?

Zaeg: I'm using my beloved Mpc Renaissance with my Mpc Software 2.0 software, and also Reason 5 in some cases where molecular precision is required.

Do you think that Oda is not able to kill Sabo, I think that if he is alive it would be very predictable for GODa? What is your favorite One Piece theory?

Zaeg: I wouldn't put up with another supposed death of Sabo, although I do think he's still alive and GODa just wants to see the fandom burn for more pleasure, my favorite theory is the one you and I were talking about the other day that Vegapunk is a giant that will open the Elbaf arc, I think it has too many foundations for it to be fulfilled.
