Every day, this father of one child starts working at around 08.00 am, waiting for market visitors to enter the parking area he manages, when there are two-wheeled vehicles, he immediately directs him to an empty location for motorbike parking.
In addition, he will also tidy up the motorbikes of visitors so that there are no empty spaces and hope that all the parking lots are filled up with the vehicles he manages.
When the parking lot is full of motorbikes of visitors, of course he will be very grateful because the target assigned to him can be fulfilled, but during a pandemic it is different, because visitors are also drastic.
When a market visitor wants to leave, he immediately helps find a vehicle in the parking lot, often prepares a motorbike so that residents can easily and quickly return from the market. This work he painstakingly until the afternoon around 17.00 WIB.
Apart from Edi who felt the impact of the pandemic, 24 of his friends also experienced the same thing, namely that income from parking fell drastically.
Because deposits are targeted every day, sometimes it also doesn't meet the target during a pandemic, which until now doesn't know when it will be completed.
"In the past, residents were restricted from doing activities outside, often they did not meet the target. Then sometimes they did not get a daily wage because I did not meet the target. To eat and drink, buy it yourself, yes, the money has run out for this," he said.
Even so, every day Edi works enthusiastically to meet the needs of his family, even though his salary is low, Edi always tries to meet the predetermined targets. He also complained, sometimes there are some people who do not pay for parking.
"There are those who don't pay for parking too, most of the market employees here also don't want to pay. Instead of making a fuss, it's better, I'll just let it go. Because orange is also angry when pulled into parking," the male mother from Bendo Village, Kapas District.
