MY HAIR STAGES

As a young girl, I attended a secondary school where plaiting of hair wasn't allowed.
I was supposed to barb my hair in a salon with clippers but I had ringworm so my head so my mum resorted to using razor blade to barb my hair. She was very good at it. She would scrape until there was no single hair left, just a shiny skin.

I was embarrassed by my look then but thankfully my hair grew really fast and in no time, I was back to my usual look.

Immediately after secondary school, I started making my hair. What I've been waiting for all those years!

My hair grew really fast that sometimes when I walk by, I hear people arguing among themselves if it was my real hair or an extension.
It felt good to be the source of their confusion anyways.. Lol

When I got admission into the university, I decided to cut my hair and start all over again. Reason being that my hair colour wasn't as dark as it used to mostly because of the relaxer I was using.

I started keeping a virgin hair. Determined not to apply relaxer so as to maintain my hair colour at least.
The natural hair grew fast as well. In no time, People started asking me if my hair was really "my hair" and if there was something I was applying to make it grow so long and full.

There was nothing, no special treatment. In fact, I didn't pay much attention to my hair or even give it the care it needed. I just make it when I can and simply park it up when it's not plaited. I washed my hair with whatever was available and applied whatever hair cream I laid my hands on.

The fast hair growth was genetic. I inherited it from my mum who had a really long hair.

I enjoyed my virgin hair. I got several compliments and I made friends just because I kept a long hair. It felt really good!

3 to 4 years along the line, I started getting frequent suggestions to apply relaxer on my hair. Some said it has grown too much for a virgin hair. Some Hairdressers charged me more money for making the hair while others simply tried to avoid making it. They complained that it was too full and too difficult to make because of its thickness.

Truly, the hair became too much for me to handle. I didn't Comb it well most of the time.

Slowly, I bought into the idea that it was time to relax the hair. I was going to miss making some beautiful hairstyles that were unique to only virgin hairs. However, relaxing would give me a different look and make it easier to maintain my hair. Besides, I can always switch back to virgin hair whenever I wish.

I relaxed my hair eventually. It wasn't bad. The real length became more obvious. It was smooth and I liked it!

Since relaxing, I've been able to make hairstyles that I wasn’t able to make with the virgin hair.

Today,I'm still on the relaxed hair and of course still looking forward to switching back to virgin hair. I guess that would be when I'm married.. Lol

What about you?
Have you had to switch between hair types?
What made you do it?

Thanks for reading through!
See you in the next post!

Siempre es bueno experimentar cosas nuevas más tienes un cabello único , lo puedes usar con muchos peinados y si lo quieres liso sólo te lo alisas y si lo quieres al natural mucho mejor🙋‍♀️😘

Really fine hair.

I've been on relaxed hair for 9 months and I won't lie, I enjoy seeing the real length of my hair and it's less stressful to care for. I definitely will go back natural when I get tired of this
