JEWELRIES

(Edited)

Hello Hivers... How are we all doing?

Adult responsibilities prevented me from being able to make a post for several days but I'm back with my thoughts as usual!

So... What's your take on jewelries?

Ear, Leg, waist, neck, hand jewelries. They come in different texture, shape, colour, uniqueness and beauty. Some people love jewelries, others don’t fancy it.

Few years ago, I didn’t pay much attention to jewelries. I simply just put on my clothes and I’m good to go. I rarely even remember that jewelries exist, talk more of making plans to buy and wear one.

However, recently I actually started liking jewelries and paying attention to them. The way they compliment dresses and make one look more attractive. I started gaining interest. I got waist chains, leg chains, and necklaces. I loved the way they looked on me when I wear them and I made a decision to start adding jewellries to my shopping lists. I particularly love leg chains. Something about the uniqueness, feel and confidence it gives me.

However, some people in my part of the world consider leg chains something that is fetish. A tool that can be used to tie someone down, or for personal protection after performing some rituals. Well, that’s for them. As long as I know mine isn’t for that purpose but for the beauty it adds to my attire, I simply just wear them!

When I travelled home for the christmas holiday, My dad noticed the leg chain on my leg and said, “what’s the meaning of this thing you’re putting on your leg?”. “don’t you know it's for spiritual mermaids?” Lol..I wasn’t surprised, many people think same as well.

However, I told him that that particular one I was putting on belonged to me alone and tried explaining that it’s the same as the one on my neck. It's just the position that differs. I said to him; “It’s on my leg now and you think it's for water mermaids? If I remove it and put on my neck as a necklace, does that automatically change the ownership?”.

My dad decided not to say anything anymore but I was pretty sure he was still not comfortable with me putting on a leg chain.
I love my leg chains and I don’t see that love evaporating anytime soon!

Necklaces are great too. They add so much meaning to dressings and leave one looking even more attractive and sophisticated.

I’m not sure how or when wearing of jewelries started in the fashion world but I'm glad it did. Despite not being much of a fashion person, at least I’m glad I can rock jewelries whenever and however I want.
So what about you? How much do you love jewelries?

As usual... Thanks so much for reading my post.

See you in the next one!

Hi, I’m Nigeria, Jewelries are just ornaments for beauty and have no real symbolism. However there are lots of sentiments attached to some of them.

Since you love them so much, do you sell them? If you are just a normal user, how do you source them?

I don't sell them. I Source from the local markets or just order online.
