Weekend of work, work, and more work. [week 173]
Normally I do not work on weekends I have office hours Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm with an hour for lunch, but my work day has changed since 2020 due to the pandemic, now my work day was reduced to only 4 hours I work in the civil service in a military base as non military personnel, they are strict because of the style of work, civilians are not required to do the same as the military, however a month ago I had to stay all weekend my boss asked me to help him to put in order everything related to the files since that following Monday they were coming to perform an audit was not to my liking, but I negotiated other days and well one thing compensates the other.
I don't really know where so much paper came from, but they managed to catch up on everything that they never finished because of procrastination, in part I can understand them since they do military and administrative work, being away from home on the weekend is super exhausting because it delays the housework on weekends is when I wash clothes, iron, clean the house in general, especially the uniforms and something that is extremely important to me is my time with my family.
I have no problem to support especially because my boss is a pretty quiet guy but hahahaha a little procrastinator thank God we came out of the audit well some details more than others to correct but nothing of the other world so it was worth the effort which was then rewarded with a few days off, years ago my job I really liked a flexible schedule I had time to share with my children the salary was not much however I had a normal lifestyle plus benefits plus social concerns, every year I took them on vacation, but all that changed.
After the pandemic I lost all my income the public administration in my country has no social benefits nobody responds for that maybe you wonder what are you doing there look for another job, if I were younger I would do it obviously you have to look for another way to earn income because if not what do you live on? it is not so easy I have been in service for 20 years, I mean I lost my time and money? in fact I do not really feel like going to work anymore being a government employee there is no one to claim your contractual rights there comes a time when you work by inertia no matter how proactive you are it is not worth so much effort so now you have to figure it out the good thing is that they are not so demanding.
Of course, this does not mean that I will do my job badly, we must always give the best we have.
