Hey Lovelies!
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas 🎄
Yay!!!! It’s been a long time coming and honestly this is my favorite season of the year, the cold mornings and nights, sunny afternoons however I don’t enjoy anything about the dust that gets almost on all surfaces looking dusty and dirty…

Back to the business of the day, we need still need to glow and shine regardless of the harmattan!
And a good glow starts from the inside out.

1. You need to stay hydrated!
The weather is always hot especially in the afternoons, plus it is always dry. In order to stay clean and healthy you need to drink lots of water, hydrate from the inside out. Drink first thing in the morning when you wake up and carry a water bottle along with you as you go about your day.

2. Ladies on natural hair like me, please spray your hair with water
it also gets thirsty too! Apply your leave-in -conditioners and if you can, do that faux locs, braid or get that wig! At all cost protect your curls, because this harmattan is not smiling at all.

3. No cracked Lips!!!
Please take your lip balm and gloss everywhere you go! And I don’t mean that for just the ladies, I mean everyone should try and protect their lips because if you don’t, the harmattan may crack them at your own risk. They’re so many of them like the Vaseline lip balm therapy or Nivea watermelon shine gloss. Whatever you do, get those lips protected!

4. Skin Guards!!!
Your skin is your responsibility, drinking water is not enough, you need to get the right cream for your skin, depending on your skin type you can try coconut oil because it’s an organic sunscreen or baby oil because they lock in moisture and keeps your skin moisturized! This is not the time you want to expose your skin to the sun or tan, this is the time to protect and guard in order to keep it glowing and healthy.

5. Eat healthy!
Don’t use the holiday as an excuse to take fizzy drinks, junk food or alcohol. Eat things that will serve you and keep you healthy, do more fruits and vegetables, eating healthy can never be overemphasized.

6. Protect your your eyes, nose, mouth and throat There’s dust everywhere and covid-19 is still lingering, don’t go out without your nose mask and sun glasses, avoid kissing just anyone, the flu is still around, if you get what I mean 😉

7. In as much as you need to stay healthy You also need to exercise and remain active. However, you need to find time to rest, relax, sleep and just have a good time with your family and friends because it’s so important especially during these times.

8. Repeat everything consciously for better results!

You have brought a very important issue up, and your guid to stay cool are valid…..

I would like to emphasize on the intake of water, this is by far the most important part of it all.

Many people at the places experiencing harmattan are prone to coughing and catarrh, this is because the air we breathe in has no H2O molecules thereby causing everything that comes in contact with it dehydrated including our lungs and esophagus. When they get dry they start cracking which causes us to cough.

In other to prevent these, ensure that you drink water at interval in other to hydrate the throat and prevent cracking. I might just be a sip of water, but make sure it’s at interval

You are absolutely correct!
Staying hydrated by drinking lots of water can never be overemphasized.

Especially in this season.

I saw an orange that has been eaten and left outside overnight, it was as dry as……..

I mistakenly stepped on it, and it broke given sounds like it was an egg shell, imagine the dehydration, imagine how well we will be helping ourselves to prevent dry throat
