Pavlova, special dessert named after a ballerina π
Hello everyone π
The name of this recipe that made me dance like a ballerina in my kitchen today is Pavlova!
Imagine a dessert made for you and named after you. How mesmerizing.
Who wouldn't want to be in this woman's shoes:)
Before I start telling the story, the reason why I wanted to try this recipe was that the ingredient chosen by dear @qurator for Hive Top Chef this week was Berries.
I remembered my berries in the freezer and immediately tried this simple recipe.
In a TV program, the cook mentioned the story of Pavlova while making this dessert.
It is named after the Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova. In the restaurant where the famous ballerina went for a tour, the cook prepared a special dessert for Anna Pavlova for the celebration and each layer of this dessert has a meaning.
Inspired by the ballerina's dress, the chef prepares Pavlova, a white dessert that is both fragile and delicate.
A famous dessert in New Zealand and Australia, it is often baked, especially at Easter.
It is a perfect dessert that satisfies the eye first.
I tried this dessert, which I had always heard about but never had the opportunity to make, and I regretted not trying it before. I am amazed how such a simple recipe can be so good.
As with almost every recipe, I made a few changes in this dessert recipe and made it to my liking.
Since I don't prefer to eat liquid cream without cooking it, I cooked a simple pastry cream instead. I filled the meringue with this cream.
Ingredients for Pavlova:
Since I prepared a small dessert for a single serving, the ingredients are quite few.
1 egg white
1 tea glass of granulated sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla
1 teaspoon of vinegar
For the cream filling:
1 egg yolk
1 spoon of flour
1 glass of milk
vanilla
a little butter
and a little lemon zest
For the top
Red Forest berries
The recipe is quite simple:
First, set the oven to 150 degrees.
Put the egg whites in a deep bowl and start whisking with a mixer at low speed and add sugar little by little.
When it starts to thicken a little, add the vinegar and continue whisking.
Add the remaining sugar little by little and whisk at high speed.
It takes about 10 minutes for the foam to thicken and harden well.
If it does not move when you turn the bowl upside down, the process is complete.
We put the egg foam in the center of the baking tray where we spread greaseproof paper and shape it.
We reduce the degree of the preheated oven to 100 and bake for about 1 hour.
When the color starts to darken slightly, you can open the oven and check.
When the outside is slightly hard and the color is slightly browned, turn off the oven and do not remove the dessert. leave the lid slightly ajar and leave the dessert inside and leave it for about 1 hour and wait for it to harden.
Meanwhile, let's prepare the cream:
Put all the ingredients in a sauce pan, mix and put on the stove.
Add some lemon zest and cook.
Add vanillin to the cooked cream and let it cool.
After the cream has cooled, put it in a piping bag. I used a refrigerator bag because I didn't have any:)
I poured the cooled cream into the bag and cut the end of the bag a little.
I took the cooled dessert out of the oven on a plate and filled it with cream.
The most enjoyable part is the decoration. I sprinkled as many red berries as I wanted and finished it off with a few green leaves.
This special dessert was fun to prepare and tasted just as good.
I would definitely recommend it.
It is a dessert that should definitely be on your invitation tables.
Your guests will be very impressed, especially if you tell them the elegance of its story.
I prepared this dessert for myself because I have been depressed for a long time. Sometimes I need to remind myself how special I am. You shouldn't always expect it from others:))
Bon appetit

Pavlova is my must Bday cakeπ lovely crust, the most challenging part of it and so tasty rewarding.
Oh, that's great. I didn't think of this for a birthday cake.
Thank you for commenting positively on my pavlova as someone who knows this dessert well.βΊοΈπΊ
That's the best one for the spring kids, in my oen opinion. :D
Most welcome!
OMG this is a very technical dessert that many people have a hard time making, in fact I remember seeing it in one of the last seasons of MasterChef Spain and some contestants had a hard time trying to perfect it.
So I find it very interesting when you say that you decided to make a simple recipe hahaha I really think you manage the technique well and that is not so easy to achieve. So good job. Especially being the first time.
I want to tell you that the pictures are beautiful, it is impossible not to be attracted by the way you have decorated the presentation, very stylish and eye-catching. I liked it very much.
Oh, what a motivating comment thank you so much.
You know, I saw this dessert in MasterChef Turkey and I thought it was very difficult. I'm glad I tried it because it was a really simple process for me. Except for the long cooking time, I think everything was done in 10-15 minutes.
I like my dishes to be pleasing to the eye and I'm glad this was noticed.
Thank you very much againππΊπΊ
haha they probably put it on every MasterChef then hahaha. It's possible that the time issue is the main problem during the program, you at home for sure were very calm while making it, the pressure is insane hahaha.
resenting such a beautiful preparation. I don't cook, but I really enjoy eating and watching the process of those who like to execute it, so I have learned that when someone is happy cooking they try to make the result represent their joy with a presentation full of harmony, just like your dessert.
Hahaha the determination is correct:) Because I watch cooking competition shows, and they often feature staple foods and the classic flavors of each country.
Cooking is really something different. Some people see it as an action that is done only to fill their bellies. Of course, this is also normal.
But some people see it as more than a necessity, and enjoy this action. I fall into this category haha :))
Combining the right ingredients and creating something beautiful and delicious can only be done with love.
Your pavlova sound and look sooo good @nidabyzt! I love the mixed berries and the custard filling, sure it brightened your dayπ
Good luck with the contestπ€
Thank you very much :)
Excellent! I have never had a pavlova. It must be very delicious. This is a very well done post!
Thank you very much, just like your potato salad with asparagus, it looked great, like a picture:)
It is obvious from your posts that you are a talented and creative person and I have no doubt that if you try the pavlova you will do very well :)
Stay with love
