Drawing with markers | Realistic Strawberries [ENG-ESP]

Hello beautiful people of Hive, how was your week? Mine, a bit complicated due to the usual problems of electricity and internet service, but well, I try to keep my spirits up and do the things that are within my reach.

My motivation to do this drawing was to put realism back into practice. This year I've been drawing a lot of illustrations, fan arts and so on, which I love because I like the way I'm going with my drawing style, but, my base is realism. When I was studying in high school at the School of Arts, for almost every assignment this was my favorite technique, and the truth is that I really like it, I like to take my time to add layers and layers of details and how progressively every part of the drawing seems to want to come out of the paper.

I love strawberries and who doesn't? Before I started this drawing I felt a little self-conscious but I always trust that I will work it out the best I can.

Process:

I placed each little strawberry on the sheet and little by little I defined its shape better and also the shape of the seeds. I took up all the space on the leaf so I could give more focus to the details.

From the beginning I knew that I wanted to use alcohol markers as the main material, because it would be much faster and easier if I colored the base and some shadows with them instead of starting with colored pencils. I know it looks a bit strange and far from realistic, but trust the process, you'll see.

Colored pencils and markers seem to be best friends because they complement each other so well and create beautiful effects. I was surprised because the colors managed to blur some of the marker strokes very well, which gives a very natural look to the drawing.

Although I had in mind to progress with this drawing in maybe a week, since I wanted to draw it little by little, what happened was that in a couple of days I had it ready, hahaha. During the second day I spent the whole morning without electricity service, so what better way to make the hours pass quickly than concentrating on this drawing.

I made the glitters with white acrylic paint and a lot of patience, hahaha, I was afraid of reducing the realism of the drawing, but I think the paint gives it a special touch. This was the final result.

Hola gente bonita de Hive, ¿qué tal estuvo su semana? La mía, un poco complicada por los usuales problemas de servicio eléctrico e internet, pero bueno, trato de mantener el ánimo y hacer las cosas que estén a mi alcance.

Mi motivación para hacer este dibujo fue volver a poner en práctica el realismo. Este año he estado dibujando muchas ilustraciones, fan arts y demás, lo cual me encanta porque me gusta el camino que estoy yendo con mi estilo de dibujo, pero, mi base es el realismo. Cuando estudiaba en bachillerato en la Escuela de Artes, para casi todas las tareas esta era mi técnica predilecta, y la verdad es que me gusta mucho, me gusta tomarme mi tiempo para añadir capas y capas de detalles y como progresivamente cada parte del dibujo parece querer salir del papel.

Me encantan las fresas ¿y a quién no? Antes de empezar este dibujo me sentí un poco cohibida pero siempre confío en que lo resolveré lo mejor que pueda.

Proceso:

Ubiqué cada fresita en la hoja y poco a poco fui definiendo mejor su forma y también la de las semillas. Ocupé todo el espacio de la hoja para así poder dar un mayor enfoque a los detalles.

Desde un principio sabía que quería usar como material principal, los marcadores de alcohol, pues resultaría mucho más rápido y sencillo si coloreaba la base y algunas sombras con ellos en lugar de empezar usando los lápices de colores. Sé que se ve un poco extraño y muy alejado del realismo, pero confíen en el proceso, ya verán.

Los lápices de colores y los marcadores parecen ser mejores amigos, porque se complementan muy bien y crean efectos preciosos. Quedé sorprendida porque los colores lograron difuminar muy bien algunos trazos de los marcadores, lo que le da un aspecto muy natural al dibujo.

Aunque tenía en mente avanzar con este dibujo en un lapso de una semana tal vez, ya que quería dibujarlo de a poco, lo que ocurrió fue que en un par de días ya lo tenía listo, jajaja. durante el segundo día pasé toda la mañana sin servicio eléctrico, así que qué mejor forma para que las horas pasaran rápido que concentrándome en este dibujo.

Los brillos los realicé con pintura acrílica blanca y mucha paciencia, jajaja, tenía temor de restarle realismo al dibujo, pero creo que la pintura le da un toque especial. Este fue el resultado final.
