Digital Drawing | Vitruvius incarnation [ENG-ESP]

My motivation to make it was to enter a drawing contest to celebrate Leonardo Da Vinci's birthday, the prize was a gifcard with which you could buy one or more drawing courses that definitely caught my attention; however, my participation was half-hearted because my graphic tablet started to fail and I had to wait a few days until they repaired it... My tablet came out unscathed and is now in my hands, however, the contest is over, but I still wanted to finish my drawing and share it with all of you.
The Vitruvian Man is a drawing made by Leonardo Da Vinci in 1492, as a representation of the canon of the "perfect" human body, that is, a symmetrical and proportionate body in relation to the surrounding space. The truth is that it is a very interesting subject, because, this representation shows us how mathematics, the body and beauty are related.
Process:
I wanted to make a drawing that of course alluded to Leonardo's original work, however, I wanted to give it a more mystical touch and, well, to show my style. The image on the left is a sketch I made from my phone when I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do, but I felt that there were many elements overloading the space, so when I took this drawing to the computer, I eliminated many of them and left a much simpler drawing, but I had the expectation of playing a lot with the colors.
Butterflies for me will always have a very special symbolism, such as transformation, change, delicacy but also beauty, so those were some of the reasons why I decided to add them to the drawing. I wanted everything to have a very harmonious color palette, that's why I chose this analogous color palette, which also inspires eccentricity and attraction?
For a moment I started to doubt about the wings, I couldn't figure out how to make the design inside them look subtle but very nice, but finally I found some references that inspired me and I ended up drawing them in my own style.
Some last minute changes I made were to change the background color to purple, to contrast with the colors of the central character and, inspired a bit by Art Noveau (which I've been reading a lot lately), I added a golden frame and colored the circle and square surrounding the character in gold as well.

Cuando culmino un dibujo me siento muy emocionada por enseñárselo al mundo inmediatamente, no importa qué tanto tiempo me haya tomado llevarlo a cabo, me siento muy orgullosa de mis trabajos de arte, y el dibujo que les enseñaré hoy no es la excepción.
Mi motivación para realizarlo fue entrar en un concurso de dibujo como motivo del natalicio de Leonardo Da Vinci, el premio eran unas gifcard con las que podrías comprar uno o varios cursos de dibujo que definitivamente llamaban mi atención; sin embargo, mi participación quedó a medias porque mi tableta gráfica empezó a presentar fallas y tuve que esperar unos cuantos días hasta que la repararan... Mi tableta salió ilesa y ya está en mis manos, sin embargo, el concurso ya finalizó, aunque de igual manera quise terminar mi dibujo y compartirlo con todos ustedes.
El Hombre de Vitrubio es un dibujo elaborado por Leonardo Da Vinci en 1492, como una representación del canon del cuerpo humano "perfecto", es decir, un cuerpo simétrico y proporcionado en relación con el espacio que lo rodea. La verdad es que es un tema muy interesante, porque, esta representación nos muestra como las matemáticas, el cuerpo y la belleza están relacionadas.
Proceso:
Quise hacer un dibujo que por supuesto aludiera a la obra original de Leonardo, sin embargo, quise darle un toque un poco más místico y bueno, dejar plasmado mi estilo. La imagen de la izquierda es un boceto que hice desde mi teléfono cuando estaba tratando de descubrir qué es lo que quería hacer, pero sentí que habían muchos elementos sobrecargando el espacio, así que al llevar este dibujo a la computadora, eliminé muchos de ellos y dejé un dibujo mucho más simple, pero tenía la expectativa de jugar mucho con los colores.
Las mariposas para mí siempre tendrán un simbolismo muy especial, como la transformación, el cambio, la delicadeza pero también la belleza, así que esas fueron algunas de las razones por las que decidí agregarlas al dibujo. Quise que todo tuviera una paleta de colores muy armónico, por eso escogí esta paleta de colores análoga, que además inspira excentricidad y atracción...
Por un momento empecé a dudar sobre las alas, no encontraba como hacer el diseño dentro de ellas, que se viera sutil pero muy bonito, pero finalmente encontré algunas referencias que me inspiraron y terminé por dibujarlas a mi estilo.
Algunos cambios que hice a último minuto fueron cambiar el color de fondo por uno de color púrpura, para que contrastara con los colores del personaje central y, inspirándome un poco del Art Noveau (del cual he estado leyendo mucho últimamente), añadí un marco dorado y coloreé el circulo y cuadrado que rodean el personaje también de dorado.
