Trying not to leave value behind.
Finally getting the house sold.
I don't know why everything moves so slow in this country but it takes months to get anything done. It only took one week from putting the house up for sale to going sale agreed but it too 4 months to get all of the paperwork in order and make the sale ready to finalize.
Luckily all of the pressure was on the buyers as i am already well settled into my new house and didn't have to worry about the speed unlike the time that i bought it. That was a painful experience.
Thankfully we are at the last stages of the sale now and preparations for passing along the property are in full swing.
Clearing out the crap.
I was only in the house for a short period of time and wouldn't be one for buying bits and pieces so the final clear out won't be too bad. Anything that i want to keep has already moved with me but there is lots of furniture, utensils, household bits and bobs.
The easy option is to leave them behind or to throw them out but that would be leaving money on the table. I hate leaving money on the table as it is so hard to earn it in the first place.
Why throw it away when you already have it?
I have spent the morning listing pieces on the secondary market for reasonable prices and know that there are easy sales to be made. We have a site, "Donedeal" here for peer to peer sales of everything and anything.
The whole country is on the site and it's great for buyers and sellers to move products between them.
Anything that i have ever listed has sold once the price is right. There is always room to haggle and people love a good bargain.
Every €10 that i can earn selling on the extra stock is equal to an hours work and is a lot more rewarding. Some people throw it all in the trash and just keep buying but that is a huge waste of money and effort.
With a few hours of work it will be possible to make hundreds of euros from the items in the house and it will save products going to waste and being dumped when they are in very good condition.
This can be applied across any sector and the is often value to be had for a lot less effort than going out and trying to earn a wage by the hour.

Nice to read your article. Wish you very happy with your new house.
Thank you. WE are settling in well to the new house and it's a relief to move the old one on to somebody else.

You are welcome. Wish you are doing well.
Congrats on getting the sale out of the way! I remember months ago reading you were going through all the hoops to get it done! Time flies wow
Thanks Rob. It's been a busy and a fast few months getting everything over the line and leaving work.
The time has flown but it must be at least three months since i started the process.
Crypto has been so busy that every week is just gone in seconds.

Good job selling off your extra or old stuff. I didn't bother when I moved out of a few places because it just seemed way too annoying for me. However I should probably start paying attention to this more the next time I need to move out.

I'm normally lazy with things like this as they can turn out to be a lot of hassle. But with this there is a lot of value just sitting there and i would hate to leave it behind since we have to work so hard to buy them in the first place.
It's worth the effort for a few hundred dollars.

I like your way of reasoning. In many cases, it’s literally time one is throwing out like trash.
That's a very good sentence right there. I have often written about the value of our time but you can look at it the other way and how leaving value behind is throwing away time.

Indeed. People’s awareness on how to accumulate value is increasing (my experience/observation), but the awareness on how to retain value or not leave value behind is still a mystery to most. Every physical object represents value, people usually understand the wealth aspect of that objects value but they do not consider it’s time aspect of value.
