To become successful, your actions will need to match your desire.

What do you do every day?

This comes from my post yester which was about getting back to the daily grind on Hive.

Back to the grind.

Which like a lot of my posts goes along the lines of finance, tips, consistency, effort, long term planning and what i like to do on a day to day basis.

There are no guarantees of success in this life but personally my biggest wins in crypto have come from these basic principles.

The best part of writing these articles comes in two parts. One is that it gives shape to my thoughts and actions. This helps to stay on top of everything that i do in crypto on a daily basis. It can be hard to keep track of all the different avenues that we run down in this crazy world. The fact that so many others take the same option has helped me to do the same and introduced the community to so many new concept. Most of the knowledge that i have now, comes form reading the blogs of other like minded people.

The second part is the engagement that you get from writing these blogs and articles. There are so many interested people here that often the next ideas come from your past ideas when the discussion gets opened.

This was a comment form @moeknows on my last post and got me thinking even more about this latest one.

I would say that your effort needs to match your true desires. If you desire to be a whale on Hive, your actions need to match that desire. If they don't, perhaps you don't really desire it as much as you think you do.

This applies everywhere.

While we will apply it to Hive as it is our common goal. This rule can apply across all goals in life.

We see it a lot of the time where people spend so much energy in talking about success that they never get around to being successful.

This can be tough to measure but i would say as a general rule that success can be measured in achieving goals.

If your goal is to own your own business then it doesn't need to make you a millionaire as long as you get to own and run it profitably.

If your goal is to have a family then success is in having a healthy and happy life together.

Goals on hive are more numeric and we do like to see all of the numbers. Whale is the ultimate goal when we see how much big actors like theycallmydan and onealpha can influence the direction of the different apps or tribes.

There are also negative whales but we won't look in their direction. Whale has a status about it and holds a special place within the community.

We all like to think that we can reach that milestone naturally but in reality there are only a few people here at the moment that will make it over the line without buying that status. People like taskmaster and tarazkp who are the height of consistency.

Doing the right things day in and day out. Their actions scream whale and will get over that line.

I want to be a whale as well someday but how much do I desire it?

Enough to lock up 100% of my stake daily and spend hours and hours writing and commenting?

Not at the moment anyway. So maybe my desire is not as good as i think it is. I have powered down some stage to fund my lifestyle which hurts my progress towards whale.

It's an interesting discussion as i though that turning up every day was enough but sometimes the dream doesn't match the desire.

Wonderful thought process.

To get to the top is not an easy task and the desire and determination is what keeps the goal achievable.

The truth about being a whale lies more in value and consistency

For me it's about shaping the next batch of users in a positive way. We have seen how much the larger accounts influence the system and i would like to be able to do the same myself.

It's a nice thing to think about. I have some dedication to engaging and curating but I still don't think I could focus 100% on it. After all I make enough that I don't have to worry about expenses and I can invest my crypto earnings on HIVE. So I would just say its still a hobby at this point with the potential of giving me financial independence.

It's good to keep it as a hobby where you can.
When you turn it into more than that then you need to put a lot of time and effort into sustaining your earnings and it does lose a little bit of the fun.

It's still a great way to make a living but a job is a job compared to a passion.
