Olumo rock

Seing God created things used to photointerest me and sharing things that has to do with nature is what I always love to do... I really do make research alots, especially on the olden days creators,which is why I'll be sharing with us what Olumo rock is all about!!!

The history of a city in Ogun state, Nigeria called Abeokuta started from this rock called Olumo rock.

The name Olumo means troubles and sufferings are all over. The history of this Olumo rock dates back to the 19th century oyo empire when Abeokuta was inhabited by the Egba people who found refuge at the rock during inter tribal wars. Olumo rock function as the tower of strength for the Egba people to protect themselves from getting kill during the war. The rock also serve a vantage points to monitor their enemy. The rock is nature and a large monuments made from the indegenous materials. Olumo stand at a height of 137meters above sea level. Olumo rock symbolize unity and freedom not just for the Egba people but for all the residence of Abeokuta.

One special things about Olumo is that, it really protect lots of people during this tribal wars. Olumo rock is a nice place to be. The day I went there, I saw many amazing things that I couldn't imaging it about this rock. One of the amazing thing is this picture I uploaded not quit long. Showing how people was playing just by hiding below the rock. This was exactly how people where hiding themselves under the rock in other to survive in the time of tribal not

This is one of the biggest rock in Olumo rock, there are lots of rocks with different creator in this place. And sometimes they do have visitors from
anywhere to come for tour, in other to enjoy themselves, because the rock has mistery tree which has been in existence for over 200 years and this one of the reason why people do come for tour. As for me anytime I went to Olumo rock, I do like to go at the top of the rock and be looking every where that's what I do enjoy most anytime it happen like that.
