My Daily Story 1/1/2024 : I started the new year by taking my family to make merit at a Thai temple in Malaysia.
Hello everyone.
Today is January 1, 2024, which marks the first day of the New Year. My family and I took the opportunity to go make merit at a Thai temple in Malaysia. According to Buddhism, during various festivals we often like to make merit in order to add auspiciousness to our lives according to beliefs and beliefs that have existed since ancient times. And no matter what country we live in. When it was time for the next Buddhist festival, we still joined together to make merit at the temple. For example, today I traveled to a Thai temple at noon. But this temple is far from where I live, about a 2-hour drive. But that doesn't stop me from wanting to make merit there. I will be glad to make merit at the temple.
When we got there, there were many Thais, Chinese and Indians who came to make merit at the temple. Last night the temple held an overnight prayer ceremony to celebrate New Year's Day. Today, when we went up to the temple, we went to pray and receive blessings from the monks at this temple. Then we came down to pay our respects to the four-faced Brahma, which is located on the left-hand side of the temple.
After it's finished. We then walked around the temple. This temple has a fish pond which is decorated as a beautiful fountain. There are large goldfish and large turtles that look like they are in clear water, which is another point that people who come to the temple can admire. and beautiful. My daughter liked this spot the most because she could see the fish and turtles. They enjoyed themselves in this corner for a while before we left the temple to get some food and go home. Because tomorrow my eldest daughter will have to go to school again.
