Pokemon Go: January 2024 Community Day Event Details

Niantic has announced the star Pokémon of the next community day event in January 2024, the first of the new year! Rowlet, which is the Grass Quill Pokemon from Generation Seven (Alola Region) will be the featured Pokémon and spawn more often during the event Saturday January 6, 2024. Another starter Pokemon this time so will be interesting to seek as it is likely a want for many players like myself which have once again taken a break from the game.

As usual the community day event will last for three hours and will be on a Saturday this time around again from 2pm to 5pm local times. The bonuses during the event will be 3x Stardust and 2x Candy for catching Pokemon. No other rewards have been announced except for the typical three hour lure duration. In addition, there will also be a 2x chance for Trainers level 31 and above to get Candy XL from catching as well.

As usual, you will have a chance to encounter the shiny form of the Pokémon Rowlet in increased probabilities during the event. Also, the exclusive charged attack Frenzy Plant will be gained from evolving Dartrix to Decidueye up to five hours after the event has been announced. It will be interesting to see how much interest this gets from the community this month. Good luck and catch ‘em all!
