Simple Pleasures That Bring Me Joy! Memoir Monday.

Walking in the bush or at the beach, would be my number one as it it a great way to unwind and relax a bit after a busy day, even a walk around the neighbour hood does the trick as long as there are not too many steep hills.

Club and community sport is another simple pleasure that has brought me great joy over the years. Though it did start to become more and more complicated each year that went by, with more and more rules, regulations, insurance and paper work. At the heart of most grass roots sport is a low cost activity where lots of people volunteer there time to teach younger ones skills and team work. We used to practice for hours and hours, learning to kick the football and building fitness.

Growing stuff and eating it is pretty cool too. I still have a lot to learn in this area, like planting the seeds a little bit further apart. It is amazing to feel a little bit self sufficient and that not all food has to come from the super market. I am not sure why exactly but I like mowing the lawn on summers day too, maybe it is the smell of the freshly cut grass or an easy job well done either way it is just good to be out in the yard.

parkrun is another one. It basically cost me nothing for years to ride my bike or run down to my local event where I made lots of friend and even met @consciouscat at one. Be careful though if you get hooked into parkrun touristing and travelling, it can cost a small fortune and take over most of your free time.
