Moonwatching
For the last few nights, we have been following the new moon as it came into sight over the balcony – until it went down behind the hills.
On the first night that we noticed the moon, it was rather cloudy and the moon drifted in and out of the clouds. Finally, the clouds cleared and we were able to see the moon set behind the mountains to the right of mast antenna.
The sky was very clear on the second night, so we were able to see the moon made its way down behind the mountains again. However, this time, it was one hour later and it disappeared behind the mountains to the left of the antenna mast.
As each day passes, the moon sets later and away from us until it eventually sets at sea when it is a full moon. It’s unfortunate that we won’t be able to witness that because we would be soundly in bed by then.
Here are some pictures of the moon setting captured. All these were done with a phone camera, so the quality was not tiptop. I did try the different modes available but I guess the object was too far for it to make any difference.
The second night.
The third night.
NB.
I waved to Chang Er and her bunny, which legend said lived on the moon. But, I don’t know if she saw my wave, and did she waved back, or if she really lives on the moon.
Thank you.
