Dogs In Benalmadena
Dogs are a common sight in Benalmadena. Spanish people like to keep dogs. It is very common to see people walking their dogs throughout the day – and late into the night too.
On my first visit here, there weren’t as many dogs about. But I remember seeing dog poop everywhere, and there was a constant urine stench. It was quite bad. I remember wondering how that was possible. How could they allow that – urine and dog poo all over the place.
Now, there seems to be an increase in the dog population. However, the situation with dog poo and dog urine has improved a bit. Dog owners are required to bring along a bottle of chemical to pour over their dog’s urine, and they have to pick up their dog’s poo.
Still, there are irresponsible dog owners out there, and there are dog poop on the streets. You have to be careful to not step on them. Imagine – you are dressed to the nines and ready to party. Then, on the way, you stepped on some dog poo. Hmm… Not very nice is it?
There are many senior folks in Benalmadena. Maybe, for this group of people, a dog is a good companion. After all, a dog is a man’s best friend.
