Grandma's Garden.
I invite you to take a brief tour of grandma's garden, today sadly she is no longer with us, but she left a beautiful legacy among her children and grandchildren, even in spite of her absence it remains beautiful, cared for and tended. She reminds me when I was a child that I liked to play among the beautiful plants, which I helped to water, her advice and instructions that she gave me and how I should take care of them, water them, she taught me that plants were not only plants; but living beings that need a lot of care and love.
Every time I go to her house those beautiful memories come to me when I used to walk among them, it is as if I heard her voice telling me, "Be careful not to step on them! Don't pull up the flowers! and so many other pieces of advice. Grandmothers are very special, spoiled and above all good advisors.
In this garden you can find medicinal plants, shrubs, ornamental plants among others. For example we have aloe vera, turmeric, and oregano small leaves*** this is rich for seasoning food, this was one of the special ingredients of grandma for pasta sauces and stews 🥺. I used to see her when I went to visit how she would pick the little leaves and place them in the sun to dry.
There is also what we call the Limoncello this is like a shrub that is used to fence or close any space, in it there are large thorns, preventing the owners of others to steal the crops and plants and predators.
Having a garden at home is so important because it beautifies the spaces, gives peace, tranquility, takes away the stress, you have where to spend time, we have any kind of visitor, the birds, butterflies, and many more, provide us with oxygen. And above all we have a place to spend a cozy and quiet time.
In my country we are in winter time, that is rain all the time, they are kept very beautiful, blooming, their leaves green and their colors more vivid than ever, the rain is a blessing for them.
There are people who do not like plants, not even as ornaments, in my house we also have our garden, but as I said before there are people who do not like it, that happens with some neighbors who live telling us to cut the plants, to remove them because it gives many mosquitoes and when the virus of the COVID, they asked us about the medicinal plants we have, and that thanks to them they did well, it turns out that now they do not say anything to us, because they realized that they are necessary for health.
Thank God that we preserve, take care of and have our garden, which is a very special place for me.
Here is a picture of the garden of my house in the middle of winter.
