Yakitori: Soldiers of Misfortune [ES - EN]

De los muchos servicios de streaming que provee entretenimiento a todos nosotros, seguramente es Netflix quien produce y estrena Anime; en realidad creo que es el único con producciones originales de diferentes géneros que pueden o no atraer la atención de diferente público; a pesar de eso, no he visto muchas y es que en esa compañía se han enfocado en impulsar la animación de 3D en varias de sus producciones y eso en momentos no me atrae mucho; soy una persona clásica (por no decir viejo) que prefiera ver un estilo de animación más acordé para este tipo series, pero al dejar atrás esas pretenciones, algunas veces se puede disfrutar de una historia, en este caso de un anime el cual es muy entretenido.

Of the many streaming services that provide entertainment to all of us, surely it is Netflix who produces and releases Anime; actually I think it is the only one with original productions of different genres that may or may not attract the attention of different audiences; in spite of that, I have not seen many and that is because in that company they have focused on promoting 3D animation in several of their productions and that at times does not attract me much; I am a classic person (not to say old) who prefers to see a more agreed animation style for this type of series, but leaving behind those pretensions, sometimes you can enjoy a story, in this case an anime which is very entertaining.

El pasado 18 de mayo, Netflix estrenó un anime de seis episodios que relata la historia en dónde en un futuro La Tierra está bajo el régimen de una organización alienígena conocida como "Federación de Comercio del Sistema Pan-Star", estos seres antropomórficos, usarán a los humanos como herramientas para realizar diferentes misiones en dónde ellos como organización no pondrán en peligro a su especia y por eso reciben el nombre de "Yakitori"; uno de esos grupos de soldados, la unidad K-321, conformada por cinco humanos y liderada por "Akira", deberán ser parte de una guerra, una Rebelión de una especie contra la Federación de Comercio y ellos deberán hacer lo imposible para sobrevivir y así terminar la difícil misión; esta es la premisa del anime "Yakitori: Soldiers of Misfortune", una historia basada en una novela japonesa escrita por Carlo Zen, del cual "Yakitori" es de sus últimos trabajos y que por los momentos cuenta con tan solo dos tomos.

On May 18, Netflix released a six-episode anime that tells the story of a future where Earth is under the rule of an alien organization known as "Pan-Star System Trade Federation", these anthropomorphic beings will use humans as tools to perform different missions where they as an organization will not endanger their species and therefore are called "Yakitori"; One of these groups of soldiers, the K-321 unit, formed by five humans and led by "Akira", must be part of a war, a rebellion of a species against the Trade Federation and they must do the impossible to survive and thus complete the difficult mission; this is the premise of the anime "Yakitori: Soldiers of Misfortune ", a story based on a Japanese novel written by Carlo Zen, of which "Yakitori" is one of his latest works and which currently has only two volumes.

Cómo dije anteriormente, el estilo de animación en 3D no es de mi gusto y creo que como sucedió con el último film de "Dragon Ball Super", pienso que es para que tenga una mejor aceptación en Norteamérica, esto es una opinión muy personal; ahora esto no evita que haya visto alguna producción original de Netflix en dónde ese estilo de animación está presente porque animes como "Kengan Ashura" y "Pacific Rim: The Black" son animes que he visto y me han gustado mucho. En esta oportunidad posiblemente sea donde he visto que la animación fluya de una buena manera; este anime tiene mucha acción y justamente los movimientos de todos los personajes deben ser fluidos para generar buenas escenas, esto me demostró cierta evolución, aunque quienes estuvieron encargados de la animación no son los mismos de los otros animes antes citados, pero creo que es una muestra de lo que Netflix espera de futuras producciones.

La historia es bastante simple y posiblemente eso no sea lo mejor para crear una buena base de fans, aunque personalmente vi como uno de los puntos positivos de este anime; me gusta que se enfoque en cinco personajes que buscan tener un mejor futuro en sus vidas, pero para eso deben ser parte de un grupo comando en dónde deben realizar misiones que se pueden considerar suicidas; sé que no es una historia original, pero es algo muy influenciado por la vida real y es que cuantos jóvenes han decido unirse a un grupo militar queriendo asegurarse unos años estables económicamente, pero siempre hay un momento en dónde se debe servir en combate y es ahí donde la realidad o las acciones de sus decisiones pondrán en prueba si quieren sobrevivir o no; esto es lo que más me ha gustado de este anime.

As I said before, the 3D animation style is not to my taste and I think that as it happened with the last "Dragon Ball Super" film, I think it is to have a better acceptance in North America, this is a very personal opinion; now this does not prevent me from having seen some Netflix original production where this animation style is present because anime like "Kengan Ashura" and "Pacific Rim: The Black" are anime that I have seen and I liked a lot. In this opportunity is possibly where I have seen that the animation flows in a good way; this anime has a lot of action and precisely the movements of all the characters must be fluid to generate good scenes, this showed me some evolution, although those who were in charge of the animation are not the same of the other anime mentioned above, but I think it is a sample of what Netflix expects from future productions.

The story is quite simple and possibly that is not the best thing to create a good fan base, although personally I saw as one of the positive points of this anime; I like that it focuses on five characters who seek to have a better future in their lives, but for that they must be part of a commando group where they must perform missions that can be considered suicidal; I know it is not an original story, but it is something very influenced by real life and how many young people have decided to join a military group wanting to ensure a few years of economic stability, but there is always a moment where they must serve in combat and that is where the reality or the actions of their decisions will test whether they want to survive or not; this is what I liked most about this anime.

Con respecto al diseño de los personajes, es de lo mejor que he visto, principalmente de quiénes son parte de la Federación de Comercio, junto a su equipo militar; estos seres antropomórficos son de lo mejor, perros, gatos, caballos que tiene la potestad de crear nuevas especies como peces, sapos, avestruces, elefantes que primeramente son menos evolucionados que sus creadores, esos los convierten en personajes para nada agradables porque ven a otros desde arriba y es que son superiores y por eso buscan dominar a otros planetas; otros personajes que me pareció que su diseño fue el mejor, son los habitantes del planeta Barka, lugar donde se desarrolla gran parte de la historia, este planeta está lleno de roedores de cualquier tipo y su habilidad y lo multitudinario que son, los convierte en un difícil enemigo; ahora con respecto a los cinco protagonista, diré que me gustó que el diseño de Akira sea muy influenciado en el diseño de los protagonistas de animes en épocas anteriores, por ejemplo, pelo negro, algo largo y que use el color rojo en su traje; entre eso y su actitud de rechazo de ser líder, pero que al final deberá serlo es otro punto positivo que me gustó de ese grupo, el cual es perfecto el cómo está desarrollado aunque me enfoco en Akira porque esta historia está relatada desde su punto de vista.

Regarding the design of the characters, it is one of the best I've seen, especially those who are part of the Trade Federation, along with its military team; these anthropomorphic beings are the best, dogs, cats, horses that have the power to create new species such as fish, toads, ostriches, elephants that are primarily less evolved than their creators, these make them characters not at all pleasant because they see others from above and they are superior and therefore seek to dominate other planets; other characters that I thought their design was the best, are the inhabitants of the planet Barka, the place where most of the story takes place, this planet is full of rodents of any kind and their ability and the multitude that they are, makes them a difficult enemy; now with respect to the five protagonists, I will say that I liked that Akira's design is very influenced in the design of the protagonists of anime in previous times, for example, black hair, something long and that he uses the color red in his suit; between that and his attitude of refusal to be leader, but that in the end he must be it is another positive point that I liked of that group, which is perfect the way it is developed although I focus on Akira because this story is told from his point of view.

Originalmente, el significado de "Yakitori" es de una comida rápida japonesa, la cual es brochetas de pollo a la parrilla y me pareció anecdótico que en este anime siempre se haga la pregunta de por qué la Federación de Comercio decido llamar de esa manera a ese grupo comando; también me pareció excelente que en sus seis episodios en dónde la acción es un claro referente, se haga una crítica al manejo o uso del poder; esta serie hace referencia a como naciones organizaciones puede hacer o deshacer lo que quieren y más cuando son adquisiciones desechables, es un gran ejemplo como gente con mucho poder puede decidir sobre otros y más cuando quienes son usados no tiene otra opción en sus vidas. Yakitori: Soldiers of Misfortune es un buen anime, me sorprendió lo sencillo y fácil de ver, es muy entretenido, me gustó mucho su diseño y la manera en como se relata la historia de este grupo; espero que obtengan luz verde para una temporada más porque creo que hay un potencial en esta historia en dónde por los momentos no hay héroes y si villanos a quien vencer.

Originally, the meaning of "Yakitori" is a Japanese fast food, which is grilled chicken skewers and I found it anecdotal that in this anime the question of why the Trade Federation decided to call that commando group that way is always asked; I also found it excellent that in its six episodes where the action is a clear reference, there is a criticism of the management or use of power; this series makes reference to how nations organizations can do or undo what they want and more when they are disposable acquisitions, it is a great example of how people with a lot of power can decide over others and more when those who are used have no other option in their lives. Yakitori: Soldiers of Misfortune is a good anime, I was surprised how simple and easy to watch, it is very entertaining, I really liked its design and the way the story of this group is told; I hope they get the green light for one more season because I think there is a potential in this story where at the moment there are no heroes but villains to defeat.
