Reacher (Season 3) - Series Review [ES - EN]
Ha finalizado otra temporada más de "Reacher", serie de acción y crimen, la que considero una de las producciones originales de Amazon Prime Video con más éxito; está serie nuevamente ofrece ocho episodios en dónde se repite la fórmula que ha funcionado muy bien en las anteriores temporadas, me refiero a acción de calidad, aunque en esta oportunidad aparte de tener una historia más directa, ofrece algo que posiblemente los fans de la serie estaban esperando de ver; eso en mi opinión ha generado una temporada bastante entretenida y divertida.
Para esta tercera temporada, se tomó como influencia la novela "Persuader", séptimo libro de la franquicia que dio origen a esta serie y en dónde se relata otra nueva aventura de "Reacher" que deberá unir fuerzas con la D.E.A. para primeramente apresar a un empresario conocido como "Zachary Beck", pero la realidad es que mientras más se adentran en todo lo referente a su primer objetivo, descubrirán una red criminal en dónde alguien del pasado de Reacher lidera una operación de gran escala, todo eso hará que el nivel de dificultad sea mayor, pero también lo será el deseo de Recher en no solamente hacer justicia, sino obtener venganza.
It has finished another season of "Reacher ", action and crime series, which I consider one of the most successful original productions of Amazon Prime Video; this series again offers eight episodes where the formula that has worked very well in previous seasons is repeated, I mean quality action, although this time apart from having a more direct story, offers something that possibly fans of the series were waiting to see; that in my opinion has generated a very entertaining and fun season.
For this third season, was taken as an influence the novel "Persuader", seventh book of the franchise that gave rise to this series and where another new adventure of "Reacher" who must join forces with the D.E.A. is told. But the reality is that as they go deeper into everything related to their first objective, they will discover a criminal network where someone from Reacher's past leads a large-scale operation, all this will make the level of difficulty will be higher, but so will be the desire of Recher not only to do justice, but to get revenge.
Esta serie tiene una fuerte base o fórmula para desarrollar toda una historia, todo este asunto de que el personaje principal va viajando por los Estados Unidos y que de una manera u otra, quienes decidan hacer algún tipo de mal, siempre estarán en el momento menos indicado cuando al frente de ellos esté "Jack Reacher" o como lo dice el mismo personaje: "Solamente Reacher"; desde esa base cualquier historia se puede desarrollar, usando los ingredientes como por ejemplo aliados, conocidos y por supuesto nuevos, interés amoroso, víctimas y villanos, justamente en ese parte, en los villanos es donde en esta temporada hay algo diferente que se ha observado en las otras temporadas y es la dura prueba que deberá enfrentar y superar Reacher; justamente desde el primer momento de revelar imágenes de lo que sería esta nueva temporada, esa amenaza a enfrentar creó una gran expectativa entre los fans de la serie.
La historia es bastante simple, más directa que las anteriores porque no existe tal investigación para saber y probar quien cometió un crimen y aunque exista elementos ya observados en anteriores temporadas, pienso que existe poca relevancia o mejor desarrollo en los personajes secundarios, lo cual posiblemente sea algo normales en este tipo de producciones, pero en esta temporada, ese tipo de personajes son de suma importancia porque son parte del motivo principal para el desarrollo de gran parte de la historia y es por eso que con mejor escritura y por supuesto, con mejores actuaciones, estoy seguro de que está temporada pudo alcanzar un mejor nivel con respecto a las dos temporadas anteriores. La acción es lo esperado, aunque por el tipo de caso que debe resolver Reacher y sus aliados, es el suspenso y la tensión, lo más importante en varios de los episodios; está decisión en el desarrollo de la historia es lo que me pareció genial porque a pesar de que existe buenas secuencias de acción, creo que no hay una sobreexplotación del género y todo queda para el enfrentamiento final lo cual no es para nada decepcionante, todo lo contrario, es lo mejor, ya que ofrece algo no visto en otras temporadas.
This series has a strong base or formula to develop a whole story, this whole issue that the main character is traveling around the United States and that in one way or another, those who decide to do some kind of evil, will always be at the wrong time when in front of them is "Jack Reacher" or as the same character says: "Only Reacher"; from that base any story can be developed, using the ingredients such as for example allies, known and of course new, love interest, victims and villains, precisely in that part, in the villains is where in this season there is something different that has been observed in the other seasons and is the hard test that Reacher will have to face and overcome; precisely from the first moment of revealing images of what would be this new season, that threat to face created a great expectation among the fans of the series.
The story is quite simple, more direct than the previous ones because there is no such investigation to know and prove who committed a crime and although there are elements already observed in previous seasons, I think there is little relevance or better development in the secondary characters, which is possibly something normal in this type of productions, but in this season, such characters are of utmost importance because they are part of the main reason for the development of much of the story and that is why with better writing and of course, with better performances, I am sure that this season could reach a better level with respect to the previous two seasons. The action is expected, although due to the type of case that Reacher and his allies must solve, the suspense and tension is the most important in several of the episodes; this decision in the development of the story is what I found great because although there are good action sequences, I think there is no overexploitation of the genre and everything is left for the final confrontation which is not at all disappointing, on the contrary, it is the best, as it offers something not seen in other seasons.
Con respecto a los nuevos personajes en esta tercera temporada, quienes interpretan a los villanos hacen un buen trabajo; no importa que tan fuerte, inteligente o molesto sean, todos son relevantes, algo contrario con quiénes toman el rol de aliados, cada uno de estos personajes son aburridos, nada importantes y eso es causado por actuaciones nada buenas, no a nada relevante y lamento que eso suceda porque en la anterior temporada se contó con Serinda Swan quien tiene mucha experiencia en series de TV y que para esta tercera temporada, la actriz Sonya Cassidy, no pudo captar mi atención interpretando a la agente de la DEA "Susan Duffy", su trabajo me pareció muy sobreactuado y nada convincente, así como el de Roberto Montesinos quien también interpreta a un agente de la DEA; sus personajes son aburridos, poco divertidos y posiblemente sea lo que menos me ha gustado en la temporada.
Regarding the new characters in this third season, those who play the villains do a good job; no matter how strong, smart or annoying they are, they are all relevant, something opposite with who take the role of allies, each one of these characters are boring, not important at all and that is caused by not good performances, not to anything relevant and I regret that happens because in the previous season we had Serinda Swan who has a lot of experience in TV series and that for this third season, The actress Sonya Cassidy, could not capture my attention playing the DEA agent "Susan Duffy", her work seemed to me very overacted and not convincing at all, as well as that of Roberto Montesinos who also plays a DEA agent; their characters are boring, unfunny and possibly what I liked the least in the season.
A pesar de que en esta temporada de repite muchas cosas y de no tener la relevancia de algunos personajes secundarios, de igual manera considero que esta fue una divertida temporada; lo que ofrece Reacher como personaje es algo que todavía hace que la nostalgia funcione y eso es debido a que es un gran personaje de acción y no hay que obviar (es imposible) que en esta tercera parte, se enfrenta a su más dura prueba, un enemigo que se supo manejar muy bien en la expectativa, que tuvo un buen desarrollo a pesar de la brevedad en su aparición en diferentes escenas, pero en el final ofrece y en mi opinión, supera toda expectativa creada; no tengo duda que ese obstáculo que debe superar Reacher es lo esperado por todos y ninguno se ha sentido decepcionado. Otro aspecto que considero positivo de esta serie es que no hay que esperar mucho por una nueva temporada la cual tendrá estreno el año próximo, así como también estoy esperando el estreno del Spin-off conocido simplemente como "Neagley" la cual funcionará como un abre boca para la cuarta temporada de Reacher.
Even though this season repeats a lot of things and doesn't have the relevance of some of the secondary characters, I still consider this a fun season; what Reacher offers as a character is something that still makes the nostalgia work and that is because he is a great action character and we must not forget (it is impossible) that in this third part, he faces his toughest test, an enemy that was handled very well in the expectation, which had a good development despite the brevity in his appearance in different scenes, but in the end offers and in my opinion, exceeds all expectations created; I have no doubt that this obstacle that Reacher must overcome is expected by all and no one has been disappointed. Another aspect that I consider positive of this series is that we do not have to wait long for a new season which will premiere next year, and I am also waiting for the premiere of the spin-off known simply as "Neagley" which will function as an opener for the fourth season of Reacher.
