Destination: Mayabi Waterfall
It was not a perfect day to go on a journey but we ignored all the rain and made the day one of the most memorable for us. We have noticed the rain forecast but due to schedule we couldn’t ignore the last destinations for the tour whatever the weather situation!
Let's find the video on my youtube channel!
Our final destination for this tour would be a beautiful waterfall that started in India and falls in beautiful Bangladesh. There are many waterfalls that fall in the evergreen Bangladesh from the hills of India; I know at least two of them now! One is Ham-Ham which I explored a few years back and another one is the Mayabi Waterfalls of Jaflong near the Dawki border of India.
When we arrived in Tamabill it was raining cats and dogs! We didn’t find many tourists on the way but were a bit afraid to watch a few rivers like the Canal full of muddy water. Basically, these canals overflow due to heavy rain and flooding the area nearby.
Do you know? This muddy stream in India part claimed to be Asia's cleanest river! I'm not too sure about data but indeed it would be one of them! The Umngot River in India is very clean which we have seen as muddy in Bangladesh due to heavy rain bringing muddy water from hills at the border area.

The river water is muddy and overflowing here! We were the only tourist and all the Waterboat were standing lazy for us! Due to heavy rain; as expected the boat cost us more than we expected! Watching the village of 'khasia Tribe' and tea garden and of course, finally, the waterfall cost us BDT3300 after lots of bargaining.
The boat ride shouldn't be more than 1500BDT including the half an hour Auto (kind of local three-wheeler) tour where you would find a tea garden as well.
As it was raining we chose to watch the village and tea garden across the river and then go to Waterfall where we would take a bath as well, you could choose either way!
We spent about 20 minutes at the Tea Garden as the rain continued with little interval.
After watching the village and tea garden our Auto headed for the Bank of Goyain River at another point where we would cross the river at Bangladesh part and go to the foot of the mountain range of Meghalaya!
Basically, the water falls at the zero point and you have nothing to worry about security as India starts from the hills so the hill may called a border here! I would suggest not climbing up the waterfall as that would be illegally crossing the border which is life-threatening as well (due to wet rock).
We enjoyed ourselves a lot here and captured many pictures, as it was raining for a couple of days the waterfall got its pick time and we had the best view of it.
Let's find out how big this waterfall is, I have captured this with my phone's 0.5x photo mode! As the sun have some room here after the rain we had many visitors enjoying the beautiful water and surroundings.
This is the end of our Slyhet tour, please find below the link of the post of the two destinations we have covered recently.
Thanks!
Hello Beautiful People, Welcome to Mustavi's Blog! Hope you have enjoyed the post, Hive is a journey and I've been on the journey since the beginning. I do love traveling which reduced due to the pandemic! Wish to start again and share the experience here. Besides I do love gardening as I feel I have a connection with trees, with nature! Sea and hills call me to visit them then; why not?
I always thought to start writing and never happened, but Hive allowed me to share my thoughts with many other people with common thoughts.
Please feel free to ask any question regarding this post, I would be happy to answer. If you love this share your love, if you hate this tell me where to improve.
Even if the weather is bad, enjoy the trip. Your images bring us closer to waterfalls that look like illuminated white canvases, fallen from the sky. Greetings, @mustavi
