Vipers FC beat giants TP Mazembe to qualify for CAF champions league for the first time.

Ugandan football club Vipers FC overcame all odds to beat five-time CAF Champions League winners TP Mazembe of DRC in a game which was the deciding factor of who goes to the group stages of CAF Champions League (Champions League of Africa).

Vipers FC beat TP Mazembe 4-2 on penalties after the game ending 0-0 in the return leg which was being played in DRC. The first leg which was held a week earlier at St Mary's Stadium(Vipers home ground) in Uganda had as well ended 0-0, meaning the aggregate score was 0-0 thus calling for penalties.

This is a big statement in the history of Ugandan football as this is only the second time a Ugandan club is progressing to the group stages of the tournament. KCCA was the last club to reach this feat back in 2018. Vipers becomes only the second club from Uganda to reach the group stages of the tournament.
