All the pain and toil pays back eventually

Consistency, is your best friend. Pace to get the work done does not matter at times. Showing up and doing the required amount for the day is all it takes.

And once you are done with the days task. Busk in the glories of your labour. Improve on the negative and take with you the positives

As the year comes to an end. I am proud of my self. I refuse to be sad in anyway. The previous year was rough from all fronts. I decided to bring in birds onto my farm and let them free range and incubate there eggs. Man! This was rough, after weeks of successful incubation by the bird only to be distracted at the last minute and all the eggs wasted if not ending up with one chick. This was devastating as I kept trying different ways of getting this to work. As hard as it may sound, this only made me fall in love with the production of birds. Developed a relationship with them, found my self watching them minutes on end, just enjoying them exhibit there natural tendencies however they maltiplication process was slow, due to them damaging eggs consistently.

madness is doing the same thing over and over and expecting change.

With this in mind I decided to get an incubator. I needed it to help improve the hatch rates and not waste the eggs and time through allowing the hens to take care of the eggs. Little did I know this was going to be a game changer.

My birds started hatching and increasing in number. What was thirty minutes of feeding and bird watching suddenly become an hour of not more as I enjoy every bit of these friends of mind doing what they do best. My initial flock suddenly become grand parents. My food busket increased from what I thought was just a hobby into conversations of how many birds can you deliver . We are in desperate need of eggs and birds.

Reflecting on the results of this project and analyzing the journey. I have figured out homesteading is all about consistency, doing consistent work and improving at weak points eventually puts you ahead of the curve.

Through consistency time spent homesteading has become more therapeutic. Fresh ambitions have been made. growth and ambitions can surely be birthed from progress.

Tough times do come however strength is drawn from communities like this seeing how your friends navigate issues and overcome obstacles when they come across some. Thought of sharing my exciting news with the community that has been with me through this journey. Thank you!!!
