Shooting at Iran-Afghan Border Sees at Least THREE dead with Many Injured
A dispute over water rights has led to massive chaos on the border between Iran and Afghanistan, which resulted in the deaths of two Iranian border guards and one Taliban fighter, with many others injured during the chaos.
Going in depth to the cause of this misunderstanding, which skyrocketed to something injurious, it was gathered that the Iranian President by name Ebrahim Raisi earlier this month warned the Talibans not to violate the already-made rule since 1973 by restricting water flow from the Helmand River to Iran’s eastern regions, of which Afghanistan’s Taliban rulers blatantly refused the approach, tagging it as an accusation.
Raisi’s remarks directed at the Taliban on Iran’s rights were some of the strongest yet over the long-running concerns about water in Iran. The Helmand River, which is more than 1,000 kilometers long and flows across the border, is being dammed on the Afghan side to generate electricity and irrigate agricultural land.Drought has been a problem in Iran for some 30 years but has worsened over the past decade, according to the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). The Iran Meteorological Organization says that an estimated 97 percent of the country now faces some level of drought source.
Taking a full analogy of what the country is passing through and attributing it to what is needed for human survival when it comes to resources as natural resources being abundant in so many areas of the world, having a fight spring up all because of the misunderstanding and misjudging of facts, looking pretty well that Iran has a percentage of 97 suffering because of the absence of water should have been the leading effect and more reason why there should be early settlement to this chaos and parties letting of the strive which will make them reduce their population and increase hatred amongst the two neighboring countries.
Trying to quote, express, and stress the causative agent to the cause of this chaos is of no significant importance in that, judging from the fact that many on the other end are suffering because of the lack of water supply and as such feel drought, and at the tail end drought has much impact on them, there should be a need for solving the primary issue so that lives are preserved rather than escalating it much more. In quest to this, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has preferred a dialogue so that things are not taken out of hand and more deaths are procured.
