The wait is desperate and a coffee awaits me
Today is @MarketFriday. Hello friends.
This is my participation in the #MarketFriday challenge by @dswigle hope you are well.
I must confess that waiting for a family member or friend to get off the plane makes me desperate.
Last Friday was no exception. My partner and I flew from Caracas to La Guaira, where the international airport Maiquetía is located. What brought us to the airport was the arrival of 2 friends from Madrid. The flight was scheduled for 3:00 pm and was delayed for an hour and a half.
My partner and I started joking around and pretended that he was arriving from a trip so we could feel the excitement, and I even took a picture of him.
Very close to the waiting room there were 3 options for coffee, we opted for the one that was the emptiest. A small café called "Hecho en Venezuela" (Made in Venezuela)
The Venezuelan economy is not easy to understand; there is a lot of price speculation. Usually at the airport food is more expensive, however, we were surprised because it was much cheaper than in some bakeries in Caracas. On the other hand, the cookies we consumed were bought at another store because the price was twice as expensive there as in Caracas.
The wait was made more bearable while we enjoyed a snack.I liked the taste of the coffee, but my partner did not like the taste. He drinks more coffee than I do, which means that he is a better coffee taster.
The place is cozy and the guy who served us was friendly and pleasant to deal with, customer service is an unsuspected factor that I consider to return.
In addition to coffee, they sell some typical Venezuelan objects made by indigenous people, such as handbags made of an organic plant-based material, hammocks, earrings, sandals.
The prices of hammocks and handbags were 15% more expensive than those available in the city of Caracas, the capital of Venezuela.
If there is something that catches my attention are the mugs, I saw two designs that I loved, the prices were not cheap. I did not buy them.
We spent 45 minutes there, we went to see the flight board and finally had arrived. Within 15 minutes our friends were already with us.
Hahahha, this is funny!! 😂
What a great way to make time fly faster :)
@mipiano 🤭 The humor helped us to relax.
We were contagious as we watched people arrive and their family members excitedly coated them. Seriously that part was exciting even though we didn't know them.
Thanks for read me😊🙌
Good thing you are not alone while you waited. When you wait, you have yourselves to keep you entertained and thank goodness for coffee. That's surprising too that it is cheap. Airports and other tourist spots are not that cheap. Interesting indigenous products too. Happy #MarketFriday!
Verdad que es una bendición contar con buena compañía. Gracias por visitarme y leerme😊😘 Happy #marketfriday for you todo.
Hello :) It's great that you can take advantage of your free time at the airport to have a drink. It is true that everything is always more expensive there, so good for you if you got something cheaper than outside. I hope you had a good time with your friends. Greetings ❣️!
Si realmente fue extraño. Gracias por visitarme y leerme.😘 Greetings ❣️
Please drop your link on my #MarketFriday post. Thank you!
Its ok! Thank you for reminding me😊🙌
I am shocked! Usually, everything has a premium on it, being it is sold at the airport. We call it airport tax here, usually 30% higher, including taxis, rental cars, and merchandise in the stores there!
How lucky are you?!!! :)
It sounds like you had a fun day at the airport! I love that you and your partner had a great time setting up scenes to take pictures. :) Enjoy your company!
#MarketFriday began as a way to reach out across the globe and learn about different cultures through their markets, especially local markets and farmers' markets, and eventually branched out and evolved over time from straight shopping to a cultural affair as it highlights how we differ and then again, how much we are alike. We have become a melting pot of culture, but it is still the Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, and even your language/languages that separate us... Along with the fact that these things are normal for us. There are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I have learned so much about all of you and it has been an amazing experience. I can only hope that learning about each other can help us work together for a peaceful world. Thank you for being a part of #MarketFriday

@dswigle Thank you for reading me. Yes, we always look for the positive side of all chaos. Good humor always makes us come out of chaos with flying colors.
Hola, @mosa71
Oh, I haven't seen a Susy in a long time. They were my favorite when I was in Venezuela. In fact, it may seem strange to you, but I liked them better than Cocosette.♥️ 😄
By the way, one of the things I like to do and enjoy is to have a good coffee and when it's not tasty I notice it immediately. My husband tells me I'm a coffee taster. 😄☕
Thank you for your nice post and greetings to your coffee taster friend. 🤗☕
@zupasteleria also prefer a Susi... And secondly the cocosete.
Well you're like my husband, he's a coffee taster. I'm easier to please..because they almost all look the same to me🤭.
Thanks for reading me, where are you no Susi?
In the stores where they sell Venezuelan products you can, sometimes, get Cocosette, but they sell it very expensively because it is an imported product. Here, in Antofagasta, the city where I am, I haven't seen Susy cookies, nor have I seen mordisquitos, which I also liked very much.😍
It has touched me friend, but there is always something good to do and enjoy, thanks for sharing your experience.
It's true, in those moments you have to activate your creativity.
Thank you for read me anda for your visit💐 @marielarc07
