My getaway to Chacaíto Creek

Rosa Amarillo Orgullo Mes Lectura Publicación Post Instagram-19.png

Hello friends of the world! I hope you are well.

Once again I visited El Avila National Park, the green lung of my hometown Caracas, capital of Venezuela.
With a group of hikers organized by @mochilas arriba Venezuela, on Saturday March 11 I escaped to my favorite mountain. According to the guide who accompanied us, the degree of difficulty to get from Gamboa to Chacaíto Creek is 3/10.

We were accompanied by the guides Jesus and Carlos, as always one of them opens the path and the other closes it for the safety of all hikers who attend their activities.

I am convinced that to have a good time you only need to be available and willing, whether you have a big budget or not.

Nature takes care of lending its architecture for the moment of enjoyment.

From 8:00 am we met at a station of the Caracas subway. Once we left the subway station, we took a bus that in 7 minutes left us at the entrance of the Park, specifically Gamboa Station.

I was happy to be able to travel with my great friend Ana Sofia. I didn't know any other person who attended the ride, however the mountain took care of integrating us.

This time we were 3 children. Nobody got tired, nobody gave up. Finally we walked a total of 6 hours.

At the first stop, Carlos, the guide, explained the route we were going to take. The green wall is a mural that shows the routes. It is a little worn, to appreciate it you have to get closer.

He told us about the 3 stops to rest and recommended us to eat the delicious ice cream they sold at the last stop, the closest to the ravine.

I got tired on the first climb because it was steep, but after that it was easy for me.

🌍🦋☘️🍂🍄🌾🌳🌍

GridArt_20230313_145315955.jpg
The day was a bit cloudy at the beginning, the clouds covered the cable cars that at that time are going up and down while they are undergoing maintenance. The clouds covered the city that from above seemed to be static and asleep.

🌍🦋☘️🍂🍄🌾🌳🌍

One of the things I enjoy the most while hiking in El Avila National Park, is to get to know the variety of plants and delight myself with their beautiful shapes and colors. I know the white flower as the white heart.

🌍🦋☘️🍂🍄🌾🌳🌍

GridArt_20230313_145731940.jpg

The hiker's soul knows when to stop. To drink water, to contemplate, to rest, and then to resume the path that would take us to the ravine.

🌍🦋☘️🍂🍄🌾🌳🌍

GridArt_20230313_150336652.jpg

After 3 hours of walking and very close to the waterfall of Chacaito I started to hear the water, and that motivated me to accelerate the pace to dive into it. Too much happiness to be there contemplating the crystalline water, the ecological scandal where only the singing of the birds, the clash of the water current with the stones.

🌍🦋☘️🍂🍄🌾🌳🌍

GridArt_20230313_150158547.jpg
These shoes are not for hiking, however I wore them just to dive into the waterfall. I love their design because they invite me to travel the world. When I wear them I say: I have the world at my feet.

🌍🦋☘️🍂🍄🌾🌳🌍

GridArt_20230313_155201884.jpg
The water was really quite cold, however, I went into the well. It was excellent because my skin felt soft. When I got out of the pool my body felt so relaxed that if I could have found a bed on the way I would have laid down to sleep.

I was crazy to visit the creeek, being in it gives me a great relaxation. Its cold and mineral-laden water caresses my skin and hair and makes them revitalized.

I literally hallucinated with the immense roots of this "Ceiba" tree. He is on the banks of the Chacaíto ravine.

🌍🦋☘️🍂🍄🌾🌳🌍

GridArt_20230316_004250278.jpg

On the way back, I confess that I did not want to go back. I was starting to say goodbye. I confess a dream that I was visualizing from there: I wish to have a mountain inn, someday!

Since I was a little girl I have been attracted to the mountains. I always say that the mountain is my favorite temple. Whenever I can I escape to visit it.

🌍🦋☘️🍂🍄🌾🌳🌍

You know what I regretted about this trip? that while I went to the bathroom I ran out of ice cream, I ran out of blackberry ice cream😌 they were one of my reasons for coming to the place. That's life, nothing is for sure!

The statue of the golden virgin located in the sector The statue of the golden virgin located in the sector Puesto de Guarda Parques Chacaito, Corta Fuego PN. The imposing Avilaluce, for Catholics and believers in images like my mother, conceive that the virgin is taking care of Caracas with her presence and blessings.

There is a tradition that has been maintained for years, and that is that during Holy Week the people of Galipan and believers of the Catholic religion, carry the Virgin through several areas of the Avila. I can imagine how heavy it must be.

Thank you for visiting part of my favorite mountain through this post😉.

@mosa71 Thank you for writing such an amazing article! I'm glad I enjoyed reading this your article about your hiking trip to the mountain top and the photos you took. Even if I don't know much about hiking, I'm happy you have shared your experience with us here.
You had a great time with your friends and the other people who went on the trip with You. It was definitely an amazing tourist experience, with beautiful scenery and a great sense of accomplishment when you reached the summit.
I hope I get to have a similar trip one day! Hiking can be a wonderful way to connect with nature and explore new places.

this comment might not be 100% accurate because I don’t have much experience on hiking

Venezuela is waiting for you all. It will be a pleasure to receive friends from all over the world who love nature.

I wish you could do a hiking experience. It is just as you say, this activity allows me to connect with nature. The Avila is our great mountain that surrounds the city where I live and it is almost impossible not to visit it.

Hiking is for people who like to walk and explore nature. I am absolutely happy in that sacred place.

@ruffatotmeee 😂 it seems like many hours but the trip was done at the pace of each person, no rush, it was not forced, the guides are very aware of that. It gave me time to enjoy every detail trees flowers dried leaves that I love butterflies, birds.

Thank you for visiting me and having time to read me 💐🙌.

Thank you for this virtual excursion to El Avila. It's been a long time since I've hiked there.
And too bad you missed the blackberry ice cream, but that gives you an excuse to go back again.
