This is my entry to today's Monomad Challenge, sunbathing.
This time I will start with the picture I liked the most and in fact I invite you to use it as wallpaper for your desktop, I think it was a good choice of composition and especially respecting some rules such as the rule of odd numbers, because in the scene we have 7 ducks that comply perfectly with this rule, we have well defined the horizon and the contrast is quite good between shadows and light, I had thought about adding more extra contrast but to be honest I liked the image as it is, I see a good level of detail, what do you think?
But let's start from the beginning, in this walk I could see the ducks relaxing taking a sunbath, it was early in the morning and even I felt like being in front of the sun drinking a cup of coffee and smoking a cigarette, of course I haven't smoked for a long time but the feeling came to my mind I can't deny it, this was what started the whole day today.
I got into position, it took about 10 minutes or so to get to that spot without scaring the ducks away, as you can see I shot with the 50mm lens so there was no zoom, the only way was to slowly approach until I got to what I was looking for.
Two other ducks approached the place, passed me and came to that spot, they were more concerned about getting their sunbath than my presence, that was good for me.
Going back to the little ducks, I took two steps forward and didn't notice the stray light in the scene, a small ray of sunlight was hitting my lens and I feel it spoiled the scene, or not, there are tastes for everything.
It was at that moment when I took the cover photo of this post, and honestly it was my favorite in every way, then I moved to another area where I could see another good amount of birds resting, so again I made use of my ninja skills until I got to the right place for the picture.
And finally I found the big ducks, they were against the light and the picture was quite difficult to take, at this moment it was the last picture I took about ducks, I took some more but they will be for another post as they have another theme, I hope you liked them.
Thank you.
