Pollinating my Ariocarpus, my first time.

As I mentioned in the previous post these days I will be busy with work and also with the visit of one of my cousins and his family, even so today I received a text from my friend Fernando telling me that his Ariocarpus were in bloom and since the flowers of mine were still open I had to take some time to go to his garden and pollinate my Ariocarpus.

I was taking some photographs that I was asked to take, so I brought my gear with me, however I didn't use it to make another video because the visit to Fernando's garden was very quick, actually his wife had a social event with friends and coworkers, so this time I only used my cell phone to take pictures, it was a visit of only 10 minutes but I hope it was enough to pollinate my Ariocarpus.

Here we can see Fernando's stars that I must say I don't know what kind of Ariocarpus they are, I have an idea but I'm not sure, but well, finding some pollen available was quite difficult so I'm really grateful to nature for giving me the opportunity to find pollen.

The symmetry in this Ariocarpus is spectacular, actually I think it is some kind of retusus with genetics from some other genus.

I think this is an ariocarpus retusus sub. scapharostroides although I see a bit of trigunos in it as well, it's probably not a 100% clean plant in its genetics either, but I think it looks pretty good.

Since my ariocarpus had two flowers, I decided to pollinate each one with a different pollen, I have already marked them and I can only hope that the pollination was successful, something we will know as time goes by.

Although we have similar tastes in plants, Fernando always chooses a different decoration to mine, I like the way his pots look but I really enjoy creating my own.

Finally I leave in detail the flowers of Fernando's Ariocarpus, I hope that if someone has a better knowledge about this genus and can provide the correct name of the species I would appreciate it, I still have much to learn about this species but I am looking for all the information available to master the subject, of course it always comes well an opinion and external knowledge.
