My entry to today's Monomad Challenge, 05_11_24 Photos
During the last few months I have dedicated my time to different activities that keep me busy and exercising, my health has improved significantly and my blood pressure is 100% under control, and it's all thanks to the fact that I have been going for a walk at least twice a week, what I can say is that I am seriously burning tennis like crazy, since I walk at least 6 kilometers every walk I take, and I can not deny that the pill I take daily has contributed to improve my health, I hope that in the coming months I will be removed the pill, it may be a good dream but it would be a good Christmas gift for an adult.
And speaking of walking, it is becoming more and more difficult to walk, the city is becoming a nest of drug addicts and everywhere you turn you see drug dealers, prostitution and alcoholism, and that produces a lot of violence in the city, in addition to robberies and murders, it is becoming difficult to walk even in public parks, and honestly I am considering joining a gym instead of walking with my photographic gear, although that would completely kill my part as a photographer, although lately I don't take many pictures to avoid the hours of editing in front of the pc.
And that's precisely what I want to talk about, I have some personal projects outside of hive that include working with photography and video, even so I decided to leave Adobe, something I had already mentioned, and currently I am using only linux and free software, that has forced me to improve both my way of editing and thinking, but especially the way of making photos and videos, I currently have a personal picture style, designed to avoid a lot of editing time, which for strange as it may seem has helped me a lot to get a better dynamic range in each of the scenes, and my camera is only a Canon M50, I don't plan to change camera for the moment because I feel very satisfied with it and if something works, why change it?
And well, let's see the photos of yesterday's walk, let's start with the first one which is usually always the most boring one, from this moment on I thought I wanted to focus on proportions, showing the urban landscape inside the park and how small and tiny we look compared to the environment.
And when I talk about dynamic range in my camera, I mean getting that beautiful contrast but at the same time smooth in the photograph, I understand that ISO noise is present, and that there are photographers who are almost terrified of it, but not me, I prefer to have the photograph, plus many times we end up adding some grain to give a little more realism to the image, so I consider that I always win.
The following three pictures were taken in the same place, a little different scene but definitely the same place, the truth is that it was a little difficult to get the pictures because there was too much sunlight, the sky was completely clear, so from the moment of taking the pictures I thought in high key style, although I didn't turn the sky into a completely white piece in the frame, I don't like that sharp contrast either, with the contrast I got I'm satisfied.
In the next picture you can see that there was also a lot of contrast because of the shadows and the light, but I still feel that my camera handled it quite well and there is enough detail in every part of the frame.
The bench scene is pure gold, at least for me, because here I had the sun totally in front of me, and in previous occasions I consider that I hadn't handled the situation well, so everything has improved, from the moment of taking the picture, to the editing and the final result.
Finally I arrived already feeling hot to an area where there were many flowers, the one on the ground caught my attention because of its beauty and its imminent death after being cut, it is how life sometimes treats us, it tears us from our place of origin and throws us in a lonely place until our brightness is extinguished, I don't want that for me or for any of you.
And finally the next picture, there was a beautiful insect that as soon as it felt me approaching it flew out of the frame, in the end I decided to take the picture anyway and the result pleases me, if I had switched to the zoom lens or at least the 50mm I could have taken the picture of the insect, but honestly today I just wanted to do everything at 24.
