Feathered Friends - Show Me A Photo Contest Round 121, this is my entry.
I hope I'm not late for the contest but this time it was really hard to get the pictures, I've had a lot of work and I didn't have the time or the opportunity to get something good for the contest, I hope you like the pictures.
I was thinking about the contest and I was really looking in the park for some birds to take pictures but to my bad luck there were no wires, or they were too far away and my lens was not enough to get something good, I was also watching the wires around my house, and nothing good had shown up until today, this little bird was there watching me while I was watering my garden, so as soon as I had the chance I took my camera and started shooting.
It is not a very special bird and I have already mentioned that there are many of them around this site, it is like a small dove that is known by the name of tonguita, small and with little meat but still there are people who consume them, maybe it is not the best I can say but it happens and we can not deny the reality.
Luckily for her I was in photo hunting mode, so she didn't have to be afraid of me, I only managed to take five pictures before she flew away, I always leave water available for the birds in my garden, they are a good show that complement the landscape I have created on my home rooftop.
It was really a good time and I know that she will come back to drink the water I leave them, with this heat we need to help these birds to survive, the bad thing is that many people have cats and let them loose all over the place and I have already seen how they hunt a lot of birds just for the sake of killing, but well I don't think I can do much about it, but at least in my garden they can be calm because my pitbull doesn't let the cats get close, see you in the next contest.
Thank you.
Lovely shots and it is nice of you to leave water in the your garden.
Have you got pictures of birds drinking water or bathing?
Thank you very much, for the moment I have no photos yet, it is a little difficult to be at the right time when they arrive to do it, but I know they arrive because sometimes I see everything splashed around, this week I will try to spend a whole morning watching the garden.
Oh, yes, being there at the right time is sheer luck. 🙂
