PLANNING FOR THE CHRISTMAS MEETUP OF THE HIVE-FUNAAB COMMUNITY
We had our last Hive meetup last week Wednesday, and in case you missed it, here are some of the posts that some of the Hive-Funaab community members made about the event.

You can see we enjoyed our time discussing about various ways by which we could grow individually and as a community.
I also blogged about some of the ways we're planning on achieving growth as a community. You can go through that here.
It might interest you to know that we've managed to some of the plans I highlighted(and more) since then.
As part of our efforts to bolster the relationship amongst the community's members, we decided to pick a location where we could learn and, according to @chosenfingers, "have mad fun". And we also wanted to make the meeting a memorable one, as it will be our last meeting for the year before we all dispersed for the holidays. So basically, the meeting would serve as our mini christmas celebration as a community.
Unfortunately for us, that kind of place doesn't exist on our school premises, so we had to search for available options outside campus.
The first suggestion that came up was Olumo rock - a very popular(if not the most popular) tourist attraction in all of Ogun state. Obviously, Olumo rock is a nice place where one can have meaningful discussions while viewing breathtaking scenes.
After discussing about it for a while, another person made a suggestion of visiting a place known as the OOPL(Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library). Relax, we're not going there to read books. 😅 Far from it. Our mission still remains the same - have fun while learning.
Don't be deceived by the "Library". OOPL is way more than just a library. In fact, it can also be regarded as a tourist center(not as popular as the rock though). The complex is equipped with stuffs like swimming pools, a cinema, a zoo, amongst many other things. One can never run out of things to do in a place like that.
Well, after much deliberation, we went for the obvious option - OOPL.
As a way to make sure all our plans are successful, each member has to donate 10HBD towards the cause while the convener himself donates 20HB. With the amount of members in the community, we hope the money will be enough to fund the event.
This is the proof of my own donation.
The meetup has been scheduled to hold on the 18th of December. If everything turns out as planned, I'll be back to update us all on how it goes. Until then, keep your fingers crossed.
And in case you also want to support us in any way, you can do well to reach out to @starstrings01 or any member of the Hive-Funaab community.
Thank you for going through this post.
Am I invited?...and this OOPL, where is it located?
Sure, no wahala. I'm sure the guys won't mind you coming along.
Do you live in Abeokuta? OOPL is in Abeokuta.
No I don't live in Abeokuta, I reside in Lagos. But I've been to Abeokuta before and I haven't heard about OOPL before this is the first time I'm hearing about the place
I'll definitely make research and check out the place if I'm less busy.
Oh really?!
OOPL's like the most popular name in Abeokuta, right behind Jesus and Olumo rock. 😅
You should definitely check the place out anytime you're around town. You can reach out to any hive-Funaab community member in case you'll be needing help of any sort.
