MY CONTRIBUTIONS TOWARDS HELPING THE HIVE-FUNAAB COMMUNITY GROW
Against all odds, we finally got to have the second Hive meetup in my university. We had one last month and I made a post about it here.
Unlike the last meeting we had, I won't be giving details about the meeting this time around. I'll be talking about efforts we've been making to make onboarding new members easier.
All thanks to the help of amazing individuals like @chosenfingers @starstrings01 @mayorkeys @heskay and many more, the hive community in Funaab is starting to gain traction. And while onboarding newbies is a very good thing, helping and making them stay is a quite difficult task.
So far, the weight of this burden as been on @starstrings01. He tries his best to go through all of their posts, help correct errors, keep them encouraged and all. Just as I said, he tries his best. But he's just one man, who's also a student, and not just a student, he's an engineering student, which means he needs to face his studies more than the average student does.
To help him ease the load a bit, I suggested we created a structure where he can appoint some of the members of the community(who are not newbies) to help do some of the work.
We're still working on drafting out a long and sustainable model, but we're yet to finalize on it.
The goal is to create a structure that will make sure the hive community continues to exist in our university even after we've all graduated.
@starstrings01 @chosenfingers @pianokills and most of all the other current members of the community have just two years to spend before graduating and it will be nice if we can all look back and still see the community thriving and soaring higher.
I did mention in my last post that my dream for the Hive-Funaab community is for it to become a formidable community here on hive, and I intend on dedicating myself towards making sure that dream becomes a reality.
Even though we're yet to finalize on the plans, there are some little efforts we've been making to make sure that the community becomes more efficient.
Lately, @starstrings01 has been putting some of us in charge of helping newbies get the hang of how the platform works. Our job is to act as a funnel by making sure we go through their posts and make necessary adjustments so that they too will become better content creators in no time. I currently have two newbies that I'm monitoring, and other guys like @chosenfingers(our very own inspector) and @mayorkeys also have their fair share of the burden.
I know I'm no @starstrings01 or @samostically, but I think I can still help a newbie learn one or two things about the platform, even though I myself I'm still learning.
Keep your fingers crossed, the Hive-Funaab community is coming, and she's bringing with her lots of amazing potentials that will help grow Hive as a whole.
Thank you for going through this post.
And before I forget, we've fixed a date and venue for our next event. We'll be having lots of fun, and we're not inviting you if you don't school in Funaab. Sorry. 😅😂
Great post @monioluwa ! I'm a newbie too, I don't know what makes you think am not.
Yeah it is a great idea,he does alot and it is difficult for him . @starstrings01 needs support, I'm glad you have that in mind.
