Consequences of delayed Harvest, Peanuts ready for harvest and taking a new form

While preparations had been on to go pluck out our matured peanuts, the harvest is taking a new form now since harvest has been delayed long enough.

The challenge is getting some laborers to join us in the task. Harvesting groundnuts is usually a boring, time-consuming process, and getting more hands on the farm often makes work faster.

We waited for laborers for a while now and couldn't get any. Yesterday myself and Daddy decided to check on the groundnuts and see how well they are fairing.

Since it is a season of high rainfall, delayed harvest can cause more problems for any mature crop.
Our groundnut seeds all started germinating. I mean, the seeds we were meant to harvest have all stated germinating as if they were all planted anew.

We have uprooted some of the groundnuts here only to see that they are all practically germinating.

Having gone home, I have cooked some of the groundnuts to eat, and this is what we have here. The taste of the germinating groundnut is not fair for eating. There is not a single person that enjoyed eating already germinating groundnuts.

We have to apply an emergency approach to go harvest our groundnuts as soon as possible if we are going to find them useful for eating. I told Daddy that we can commence with the work and do the little portions we can daily rather than waiting for laborers.

The germinating groundnuts may still be useful for making groundnut oil and other functions; hence, there is no need to delay harvest anymore.
Delayed Harvest cost us our soy beans the last time. There was practically nothing to harvest by the time we got to the soy bean farm, as those ones got rotten completely.

The more we delay harvest, the more of our groundnut will be germinating, and we are already seeing how this will affect the use of our peanut seeds, both for consumption and other purposes. Aside this, I am really proud of how well our groundnuts have produced this year.
