If your current job, business or hustle isn't giving you a substantial amount of money, the investment that should appeal most to you is, self development. Self development is an investment that would give you the highest return.

Develop yourself until you eventually become a high income earner.

Use that little income to acquire a high income skill.

Investigate. Find out what is relevant and would still be relevant in years to come.

Commit yourself to continuous learning and practice.

You might not even have to spend much to acquire some of these skills that are in high demand.

There are a lot of free resources online.

There are websites that teach for free what you would break the bank to learn.

(If you need help, I might share some of those websites for you in another post.)

After equipping yourself with the relevant skills, learn how to sell.

The ability to sell is a skill that is mostly underrated, but one thing is sure; it's difficult for a man that can sell to be poor.

Learn how to sell yourself, your skills and your products.

Be your number one ambassador. No one can market you better than yourself.

Hawk your wares if you must. Be a shameless marketer. Shame doesn't pay bills.

Read self help books. Acquire emotional intelligence. It would help you in knowing how to direct your energy. Emotions are energies, if wrongly dispersed it could be disastrous. know how and where to focus your energy.

Inculcate into yourself, good work ethics. Both hard work and smart work are sometimes stressful. Don't in the name of not liking stress become lazy.

There's actually no free lunch out there. If it's free, be rest assured that there could either be hidden charges, or someone else had worked for it. There's always work around the corner. So be ready to put in the work.

Develop social etiquettes. know how to relate with people.

Treat people with courtesy. Courtesy is the least requirement for any job entry. It's an unwritten rule. It won't be spelt out for you because you're expected to know.

Don't be quick to jump ships and collapse bridges. Do it only when it's absolutely necessary.

There's nothing beautiful about being perceived as a brash and an uncultured person. Almost everyone would choose to work with a polite and cultured person instead of its opposite.

Stay consistent. Short steps in the right direction has proven to be better than an undirected speed.

Be patient, everything needs time to grow. Give yourself time.

Be disciplined. Be determined. Be resolute in your pursuit. You'll feel like giving up more than once. You'll need great discipline and determination to keep going.

Do this and the future would smile on you.
