Globalfest International Fireworks Festival

The Globalfest International Fireworks Festival takes place every year in August. It all happens at Elston park located in SE Calgary near the edge of the city.

I really enjoy this spot, the there is a body of water that separates the crowd from the fireworks. The reflections you can get off the water really create a neat symmetry.

I think one of the first things I learned doing fireworks is that once you have your settings figured out its best to keep them the same if you find the exposures are working out. Things happen so fast there isn't much time to adjust on the fly.

As I learned what works and what doesn't I found myself being able to enjoy the show more and let my camera remote do the work so I can stay watching the skies.

Really beautiful series of photos. Aren't reflections in water fun? I've had to roll up and down over your series several times. Striking patterns. The second one down, the top firework, I can see a face in it. Must have been wild shooting these.

Exactly, that's what I have also experienced.

You are definitely a pro. Awesome shots. Keep them coming.
