And the Cycle Repeats Itself
Angie and Joseph drive around the city in their car, it's already dark, and they still can't find Raphael, this is the second day he hasn't returned home.
When they are about to give up, they miraculously find him lying on the street, drunk and drugged, with great effort they pick him up, put him in the car and take him home.
While still drugged, Angie recorded him with her phone with the purpose of showing Raphael her own image, and so she did the next day, they had a long talk, Raphael was moved to see himself in that condition and decided to enter rehab.
Angie is Raphael's younger sister, but she acts like his mom, and she is happy with the decision he made, because even though it is not the first time he goes to rehab, this time he is going on his own.
Three months passed and Raphael got out of rehab, got a job and even met a beautiful woman with whom he began a stable relationship. Everything seemed to be going well.
However, Raphael began to hang out with his old friends, and although he was reluctant to drink at first, one day he could not refuse a beer they offered him.
Another day he decided to drink sangria with friends, he told himself that he would not go beyond that. Weeks later he was drinking rum, and from then on there was no stopping him, little by little he entered the world from which he had found it so hard to leave.
Shortly after he lost his job, he went to work while under the influence of alcohol, and when his supervisor found out, he fired him immediately.
His girlfriend broke up with him, she saw no future in the relationship. That saddened Raphael even more, and now that he had nowhere to live he went back to the streets, he felt ashamed to go back to Angie's house.
Being in the streets he remembered the last conversation with his sister, the video of himself, he felt lost, he wanted to get out of that terrible world again, but he felt he couldn't do it.
On his own, he went to the Rehabilitation Center, and since he could not pay for his stay, they offered him the option of working at the center. Raphael was a great athlete, and with them he had the opportunity to teach physical education classes and organize sports tournaments.
After his rehabilitation, Raphael continued to work for the center, where he not only felt useful as a teacher, but also felt that he could help many others who have experienced similar situations.
He resumed contact with his sister. Angie and her husband, Joseph, were always a great support to him. She was happy and proud to see the path he had taken, and now supported him more than ever.
Although Raphael sought out Ann, his ex-girlfriend, she was no longer interested in getting back together with him, so he respected her decision and moved on with his life.
Angie and Joseph go to meet Raphael today, while in the vehicle Angie tells him that she became fearful that her brother's cycle of rehab and relapse would continue, but is reassured to note that Raphael has found a way to stay clean.
Angie is very happy, her look expresses it better than she does. She closes her eyes, smiles and whispers to herself, "It's going to be okay."
To Raphael, it is most safe to keep working in the rehab centre.
