MY FIRST EXPERIECEMENT ON CULTIVATING GIANT SEED PEPPER ON A FOREIGN SOIL.
Hello my fellow hivers❣️
Good evening to you how are you doing today, I hope you having a wonderful mid week.
This week has been so awesome for me here on hive especially the discovery aspects and learning, I read a post here on hive on Monday and I must say I learnt a lot and am applying it on my daily schedule.
Today I had no lecture so I decided to go to my little farm yard to inspect what have been going on there in my absence and to make some harvest.
I did not go there to do much work but I saw myself doing what I didn't plan for.
Last month my aunt brought a pepper she called giant seed pepper from Lebanon when she came for Easter holiday.
I got the pepper and took out some seeds to plant it at my little garden.
My aunt disagree with me, she told me that the pepper may not grow due to weather and soil conditions here in Nigeria, she said that the pepper grows better on a site close to snow or cold environment and wet soil.
After listening to her, I had to improvise by creating a place that I believe will be suitable for the growth of the pepper. I took few seed to where I have my water tank stand, I dugged a place where water will be dropping when the tank is filled with water, I did that in order to achieve a faster and better growth of the pepper.
After a week of plantation, I noticed that some folding leave have started coming out from the place where I planted. I watch the giant seed 🍃 growing for few weeks before I move it to a permanent site.
I nurse the pepper growing day by day before I resumed school due to strike called off.
For one month now I haven't gone to see what is going on.
HOW TO CULTIVATE GIANT SEED PEPPER ON NIGERIA SOIL.
It very simple to cultivate the pepper if you can follow due process.
Remember I told you the condition behind the foreign pepper process of planting and if you want to harvest heavily at the end and to prevent it from dying.
After I transplant the seed from the water tank site, I took it to a loamy soil area, till it the soil and I added animal waste like goat or sheep waste, after that I mixed the local manure with the soil and irrigate it.
I left the soil for two to three days in order for the manure to ferment and mixed with the soil.
By that time of waiting for the soil to mixed with the soil well, you can start removing the seed from the bug of pepper for easy planting.
The smallest farm fork is used to dig the soil and you put two to three seed on the soil and cover it lightly with enough manure.
After that process give three to five days to germinate.
The giant seed pepper grows faster after germination.
BENEFITS OF GIANT SEED PEPPER.
The pepper is mostly used for stew and soace because of the chilling effect of hottness on it, the pepper is naturally hot just like the Carolina reaper and bhut jolokia chocolate pepper.
Due to the spices hottness of the pepper, I think that blood pressure, cholesterol and heart issue can be prevented through eating it.
I most used this medium to appreciate the various moderators in this community as this my first time of sharing my knowledge and little idea here.
