Entre Libros. La historia de Sara. /Cuento.

This is the story of Sara, a little girl of only 6 years old, trapped in a big house full of luxury and prestige, because her parents dedicate their lives to a large and well known real estate company. Most of the time her parents are not at home so Sara feels the great loneliness of an empty home, accompanied only by her nanny and the cleaning staff.

Sara had her future secured, heiress and future president of the family business. Everything a child would want. However, it seems that Sara was not yet old enough to decide what she wanted for her future.

From a very young age her nanny would read her bedtime stories and this gradually awakened in Sara a love for books and stories.

One day while touring her formidable house she came across a huge door at the end of a dark and dusty corridor; it seemed that the cleaning staff had forgotten to go through there or that no one had been in there for a long time. Moved by curiosity she decided to enter that room that without thinking about it changed her life completely.

In that room he came across a library full of very old and forgotten books. Perhaps they were already there when they bought the house and had not yet been removed. In this library he could find any book he wanted, from geography and mathematics to fantasy and fiction.

Sara decided to pick up a book to read and became so immersed in reading that without realizing it, the whole day had gone by in that room, her first day! From that moment on she decided to come back every day to read a book, a universe of stories trapped in a room and old pages!

As the days went by, something unusual began to happen to Sara, it seems that she not only read stories during the day, but at night she lived them in her dreams. Every night she would visit unknown, fantastic and funny places, out of the ordinary. Every day her imagination grew more and more.

And along with his imagination, his knowledge and understanding of life grew, as a myriad of morals were engraved in his mind. One day while visiting his animal friends, they taught them great life lessons.

-His friend the Giraffe taught him that no matter how high we are, we must always look down to the people who supported you when you were still small and helped you grow. (Humility).

-The Donkey taught him that no matter how much you are made fun of, we can always help others carry their burdens even if we are not rewarded or valued. (Generosity).

-The dog taught him the importance of being there for your loved ones, transmitting joy and positivity to appease the problems. To be good companions in good times and bad. (Love and loyalty).

-The cat taught him that we do not always have to be attached to people, sometimes we must let go to achieve our own merits. (Independence).

-The rooster showed him the importance of doing our activities early in the morning and adding small efforts every day. (Discipline and Constancy).

These great lessons had a profound effect on Sara's life, preparing her to be a great person and face real life outside of a book.

Her parents began to notice how much time Sara spent with books and that she wasn't like "normal" kids who spend all their time playing games and on their electronic devices. Worried that their daughter was straying from her purpose, they decided to make the tough decision to close off the room that Sara frequently visited.

This was a very hard blow for Sara, since at 10 years old, books and fantasy characters had become her only companion.

But this did not stop Sara, for her heart already belonged to those stories she had read since she was a child. So she decided to write new books, new stories. And so the days, the months, the years went by. Every day a new adventure to write, a new world to imagine.

As the years went by, Sara is now 27. Far from what her parents wanted her to be. Sara became a great book writer and film production assistant. What started with children's stories allowed her to write her own.

How many times other people have wanted us to do with our lives what they have wanted or what they have dreamed, when it is we ourselves who have to want, we have to dream.

Sara is the writer of her own story, be the writer of yours.
