En el periodo escolar, muchas instituciones educativas planifican eventos culturales para incluir la participación de los niños en las distintas actividades como baile, canto, monólogos, declamación, obras teatrales, marionetas y otro tipo de presentaciones; cuentan con un público para aplaudir y reconocimientos a los participantes.

Este tipo de actividad por lo general crea en los niños muchos sentimientos como emoción, nervios, interés, sentido de logro, disciplina y responsabilidad. En su mayoría vemos a los niños, entre sus nervios, con una felicidad por sentirse una pieza principal en algo importante.

Las participaciones en eventos, permite a los niños mostrar sus destrezas, quizás algunas que sus padres no conocían anteriormente, y como mencione antes les permite cultivar valores como el sentido de compromiso, la disciplina, la responsabilidad, el respeto y otros valores importantes.

In the school period, many educational institutions plan cultural events to include the participation of children in different activities such as dancing, singing, monologues, declamation, plays, puppets and other types of presentations; they have an audience to applaud and recognition for the participants.

This type of activity usually creates in children many feelings such as excitement, nerves, interest, sense of accomplishment, discipline and responsibility. Mostly we see children, among their nerves, with a happiness for feeling a main piece in something important.

Participating in events allows children to show their skills, perhaps some that their parents did not know about before, and as I mentioned before, it allows them to cultivate values such as a sense of commitment, discipline, responsibility, respect and other important values.

¿Por qué es importante el apoyo de los padres en estas actividades?

Los niños no pueden tomar decisiones por si solos, para poder realizar alguna actividad adicional deben contar con la aprobación de sus padres. Por lo que, al aceptar que su hijo participe en algún evento escolar, adquieren ellos mismos un compromiso, enseñando y cumpliendo con responsabilidad.

Tras una gran presentación de sus hijos está el tras cámara de sus padres, la búsqueda del vestuario, el peinado, los ensayos, la asistencia al evento y al final un gran cansancio.

Why is parental support important in these activities?

Children cannot make decisions on their own; in order to do any additional activity they must have the approval of their parents. Therefore, by accepting their child's participation in a school event, they themselves acquire a commitment, teaching and fulfilling with responsibility.

Behind a great presentation of their children there is the behind the scenes of their parents, the search for the costumes, the hairstyle, the rehearsals, the attendance to the event and at the end a great fatigue.

¿Valdrá la pena hacer esto por los hijos?

La respuesta la vas a encontrar en la reacción del niño o niña; si en sus caras se ve alegría y felicidad, satisfacción, emoción, sin duda alguna pensaras que el esfuerzo valió la pena.

Muchos padres prefieren evitar que sus hijos participen en estas actividades, quizás porque notan que no les llama la atención esos eventos, o quizás para evitar gastos económicos que para ellos resultan innecesarios. Y se les respeta su decisión, porque al final son los padres quienes decidirán si su hijo participará o no.

Por otro lado, algunos padres buscan fomentar en sus hijos este tipo de actividades y por eso los inscriben en cursos adicionales de danza, música, teatro o algún deporte, haciendo que sus hijos agoten sus energías en actividades recreativas y provechosas.

Will it be worth it to do this for the children?

You will find the answer in the child's reaction; if their faces show joy and happiness, satisfaction, excitement, you will undoubtedly think that the effort was worth it.

Many parents prefer to prevent their children from participating in these activities, perhaps because they notice that they are not attracted to these events, or perhaps to avoid economic expenses that are unnecessary for them. And their decision is respected, because in the end it is the parents who will decide whether their child will participate or not.

On the other hand, some parents seek to encourage their children to participate in this type of activities and therefore enroll them in additional courses of dance, music, theater or sports, making their children exhaust their energies in recreational and profitable activities.

En mi niñez, mis hermanas y yo contamos con el apoyo de nuestros padres para las distintas actividades en las que participamos, y sí que fueron muchas. Detrás del recuerdo de cada foto, se puede apreciar el gran esfuerzo que hicieron mis padres y el amor que le pusieron a cada evento para conseguirnos el vestuario, hacernos hermosos peinados y estar presentes en cada participación.

Cada medalla y cada reconocimiento dejaron una satisfacción inigualable en mí, un logro más para mi vida, y un orgullo más para mis padres. Son momentos que aún conservo en mis memorias como especiales y emocionantes. Entre las actividades que participe estuvo el teatro, la danza, siendo con el tiempo coreógrafa de algunos de algunos bailes con mis compañeritos; la declamación y mi participación como escritora de libros para el día del Libro y del idioma; quien iba a pensar que después de tantos años iba a seguir escribiendo.

In my childhood, my sisters and I counted on the support of our parents for the different activities in which we participated, and yes, there were many. Behind the memory of each photo, you can appreciate the great effort my parents made and the love they put into each event to get us the costumes, make us beautiful hairstyles and be present at each participation.

Each medal and each recognition left an incomparable satisfaction in me, one more achievement for my life, and one more pride for my parents. These are moments that I still keep in my memories as special and exciting. Among the activities I participated in were theater, dance, being eventually the choreographer of some of the dances with my classmates; declamation and my participation as a writer of books for the Book and Language Day; who would have thought that after so many years I would continue writing.

Aun quedo sorprendida como después de tantos años recuerdo parte de mis presentaciones, como una canción que dedicamos al Programa de Alimentación Escolar (PAE) que en parte decía:

“Una alimentación variada
Debemos todos tener,
Para crecer y estudiar
Como lo dice la ley”

Or a declamation that marked my feeling, although I do not remember its name I know it was about the indigenous people and how they appropriated their lands, in part this declamation said:

Fiery plumes, hallucinatory plumage,
Naked torsos,
Wood and skin"

Debí haber tenido solo como 7 años cuando hice esta declamación y aún recuerdo algunos fragmentos. Sin duda alguna, valoro y aprecio mucho todos estos lindos recuerdos que guardo en mi memoria y ya con mi edad sé que disfrute mi infancia, y que estos eventos escolares me enseñaron a ganar y a aprender a perder e intentarlo otra vez.

Para mí, el apoyo de los padres es de gran importancia ya que si en el apoyo de los míos no lo hubiese logrado.

I must have been only about 7 years old when I did this declamation and I still remember some fragments. Without a doubt, I value and appreciate very much all these nice memories that I keep in my memory and now with my age I know that I enjoyed my childhood, and that these school events taught me to win and to learn to lose and try again.

For me, the support of my parents is of great importance because if I had the support of my parents I would not have made it.
