Eastern Part Of Nigerian Local Delicacy || Oha Soup Recipe
If you haven't tasted Ofe Oha, you won't comprehend the frenzy surrounding this delectable delicacy from Nigeria's Eastern region. This soup exemplifies the adage, "you never know what you have until you lose it." When I went to see my uncle's wife in Port Harcourt, she had just put her children to bed, so I stayed with her. Their favorite dish was Oha, which I could eat whenever I wanted because 'fresh' oha leaves were readily available.
Fresh oha leaves are used to make the tastiest oha soup, and here in Lagos to get a fresh Oha leaves will definitely take time unless you have someone from the eastern part that want to visit you or come over, you can tell him or her to buy the fresh leave when they are coming.
I live in Nigeria's busiest state, Lagos, to be precise. We rented a small apartment on the mainland, and we have a large compound. We have a diverse range of neighbors, from from many tribes and regions of Nigeria.
One of my neighbors is from Nigeria's eastern region. We used to refer to her as Mama Ada. She bought the fresh Oha leaves on Thursday evening, and I politely asked her to give me some since I'd been carving for the soup. She graciously obliged, and I went to the local market to get the remaining ingredients.
