Leveling up: Three degrees in one

Well hello, stranger

I had my first face-to-face graduation after 5 years of studying and completing three degrees. Why? Well, Covid happen...

I was beyond excited and terrified. Walking over that stage would mean that my days as a student is over. I had my fun (my fun was reading and taking naps), and now it was time to move on.

Without second thought I ordered all three of my sashes. I went in search of a dress and decided that I'm claiming back the graduations Covid took from me.

We took photos at the Geography building for my first gradustion. Blue sash 1 obtained: leveling up.

My second degree was a Honours in Spatial Planning. And yes, I had to get separate pictures for this one as well. Blue sash 2 obtained: leveling up.

Dagree number three! Will I stop here? No definitely not, I'm currently enrolled for my PhD. So hopefully in the next year and a halve I'll be graduating with a red gown.

I wanted a photo in front of our main building on campus. I have photos of my father in front of the building way back when he graduated. I turned around since this sash is blue while the others are black with blue bands. Only the Master sashes are completely blue (other faculties have different colours). I worked hard to get here and I wanted to remind myself of the steps I had to take to get here. Blue sash 3 obtained: leveling up.

Here you can see that the band has a white line, this is unique to the Building Science departments on our campus.

Our department took a photo with a few of the graduates. Amongst us are amazing Scholars, Profs, Dr, mentors and friends. We even had the privilege to celebrate a second PhD for one of our Proffessors! He truly is an inspiration to all of us.
