Hello friends and friends! Today I want to share with you a musical journey through time and styles. Ready to let yourself be carried away by the wonderful sounds of baroque and romanticism? Well then, come with me to discover my composition "Prelude"!

Me encuentro aquí, sentado frente a mi amado teclado y cerca de mi buen compañero, el alto recorder, listo para comenzar esta aventura musical. Pero antes de adentrarnos en las notas, déjenme contarles un poco sobre el fascinante mundo del barroco.

Here I am, sitting in front of my beloved keyboard and close to my good partner, the alto recorder, ready to begin this musical adventure. But before we get into the notes, let me tell you a little about the fascinating world of the Baroque.

El barroco musical floreció en Europa durante los siglos XVII y XVIII, y fue una época de grandes cambios estilísticos en la música. Se caracterizó por su exuberancia, ornamentación y grandiosidad. Y qué mejor manera de sumergirnos en esta época que a través de los instrumentos que para entonces experimentaron su mayor auge: el alto recorder y el clavecín.

The musical baroque flourished in Europe during the 17th and 18th centuries, and it was a time of great stylistic changes in music. It was characterized by its exuberance, ornamentation and grandeur. And what better way to immerse ourselves in this era than through the instruments that by then experienced their greatest boom: the alto recorder and the harpsichord.

El alto recorder, también conocido como flauta dulce alto, es un instrumento de viento que se remonta a la antigüedad, pero que alcanzó su máximo esplendor en el barroco. Su sonido dulce y melodioso nos transporta directamente a la corte de un rey o a un salón lleno de música y alegría.

The alto recorder, also known as the alto recorder, is a wind instrument that dates back to antiquity, but which reached its peak in the Baroque. Its sweet and melodious sound transports us directly to the court of a king or to a hall full of music and joy.

Por otro lado, el clavecín es un instrumento de teclado que se asemeja mucho al piano, pero se distingue de este en varios aspectos: en lugar de martillos golpeando las cuerdas, se utilizan púas de plumas de ave y es por este mecanismo que a diferencia del piano, el clavecín no puede reproducir dinámicas, el sonido que emite siempre se proyecta con misma intensidad. Su sonido metálico es distintivo; genera una sensación especial al tocarlo, y es sin duda uno de mis instrumentos favoritos.

On the other hand, the harpsichord is a keyboard instrument that is very similar to the piano, but differs from it in several aspects: instead of hammers hitting the strings, bird feather spikes are used and it is because of this mechanism that, unlike the piano, the harpsichord cannot reproduce dynamics, the sound it emits is always projected with the same intensity. Its metallic sound is distinctive; It generates a special sensation when playing it, and it is without a doubt one of my favorite instruments.

Pero volviendo a mi composición "Preludio", quiero contarles un poco más sobre ella. Está escrita en la tonalidad de Sol mayor, lo que le da un aire brillante y radiante. El motivo melódico que se repite a lo largo de la pieza es tan pegajoso que quedará resonando en tu interior.

But going back to my composition "Prelude", I want to tell you a little more about it. It is written in the key of G major, which gives it a bright and radiant air. The melodic motif that is repeated throughout the piece is so catchy that it will resonate inside you.

“Preludio” no solo tiene elementos del barroco, también los tiene del romanticismo ¿Cómo así? Veremos en esta obra pinceladas del romanticismo en la armonía y en la interpretación fluctuante de pequeños rubatos.

“Prelude” not only has elements of the baroque, it also has elements of romanticism. How so? We will see in this work hints of romanticism in harmony and in the fluctuating interpretation of small rubatos.

En cuanto al acompañamiento, utilicé un recurso compositivo llamado disminución. ¿Qué significa eso? Básicamente, se trata de tomar una melodía o progresión armónica y reducirla, tocando las notas más rápidamente. Esto crea un efecto de ornamentación y añade un toque de elegancia a la pieza.

As for the accompaniment, I used a compositional resource called diminution. What does that mean? Basically, it involves taking a melody or harmonic progression and slowing it down, playing the notes faster. This creates an ornate effect and adds a touch of elegance to the piece.

A medida que avanza "preludio" la disminución será evidente en las progresiones armónicas; hacia el final de la obra, la contracción será más notable, creando con ello, un efecto de cierre perfecto.

As "prelude" progresses the decay will be evident in the harmonic progressions; towards the end of the work, the contraction will be more noticeable, thus creating a perfect closing effect.
