Tengo mi Permiso Permanente en Colombia📝 - Mi día cuando lo retiré [Esp-Eng]

Hola comunidad linda, les deseo un feliz día a todos donde sea que se encuentren.

Hace unos meses hicimos la solicitud para obtener nuestro permiso de permanencia en Colombia, el cual nos permitirá tener acceso al sistema de salud público, cuentas bancarias, licencias y muchos otros beneficios de los cuales hasta ahora no gozábamos.

Hace unos días me llegó un correo electrónico informándome que mi permiso había sido aprobado y que podía ir a la oficina a retirarlo, por supuesto esta noticia me emociono mucho aunque no sabia si era solo mi permiso o también el de mis hijos, pues habían informado que primero entregarían el de los niños menores de 10 años.

A few months ago we applied for our Colombian residence permit, which will allow us to have access to the public health system, bank accounts, licenses and many other benefits that we did not enjoy until now.

A few days ago I received an email informing me that my permit had been approved and that I could go to the office to pick it up, of course this news made me very excited although I did not know if it was only my permit or also that of my children, as they had informed that first they would deliver the permit for children under 10 years old.

Así que este martes fui a retirar el documento y quiero compartir con ustedes esta experiencia, ya que pensé que seria mas rápido que cuando fuimos a que tomaran nuestros datos y firmar (lo que se llamo registro biométrico)

La primera vez que fui al puente de tienditas (frontera con Venezuela) fue a registrar nuestros datos, ese proceso fue muy rápido, llegamos en la tarde alrededor de las 3:00 pm pues teníamos cita a las 5:00 pm y decidimos ir antes porque las personas nos decían que era demorado el proceso, que mucha gente asistía y lo mejor era prevenir. Sin embargo a nosotros nos fue bastante bien y en menos de una hora y media ya estábamos de vuelta en casa.

Para retirar el documento me fui temprano porque pensé que sería rápido, sin embargo me tomó más tiempo del que me imaginé, además para llegar a las "oficinas" hay que caminar 1 Km y como era temprano había muchísimo sol.

So this Tuesday I went to pick up the document and I want to share with you this experience, as I thought it would be faster than when we went to take our data and sign (what is called biometric registration).

The first time I went to the bridge of tienditas (border with Venezuela) was to register our data, that process was very fast, we arrived in the afternoon around 3:00 pm because we had an appointment at 5:00 pm and we decided to go earlier because people told us that the process was delayed, that many people attended and it was best to prevent. However, it went quite well for us and in less than an hour and a half we were back home.

I went early to pick up the document because I thought it would be fast, however it took me longer than I imagined, besides to get to the "offices" you have to walk 1 Km and since it was early in the morning it was very sunny.

Como aún están registrando personas para que obtengan su permiso, la entrega del mismo la hacen en un lugar abierto que anteriormente era el puesto de control por donde pasaban los vehículos de un lado a otro.

Al llegar al lugar habían tres colas cada una con mas de 50 personas, todas para retirar sus documentos, estuve en esta colas mas de 90 minutos, luego pasamos a otro espacio donde recibían el comprobante y allí tuve que esperar a que me llamaran. En este espacio habían sillas así que le espera fue mas cómoda sin embargo más larga que la anterior.

Cuando finalmente dijeron mi nombre habían pasado más de 2 horas, y luego tuve que esperar 25 minutos más por el documento de mi hijo mayor a quien también se lo aprobaron.

Since they are still registering people to obtain their permits, they are handing them out in an open place that used to be the checkpoint where the vehicles passed from one side to the other.

When we arrived at the place there were three lines with more than 50 people each, all to get their documents, I was in this line for more than 90 minutes, then we moved to another space where they received the voucher and there I had to wait to be called. In this space there were chairs so the wait was more comfortable but longer than the previous one.

When they finally said my name it had been more than 2 hours, and then I had to wait 25 more minutes for my oldest son's document who also got it approved.

En el lugar hay un punto de afiliación al sistema de salud con una de las empresas de acá de Colombia, es decisión personal registrarse con esa empresa o buscar la que más te guste para recibir atención medica, yo me registré de una vez con esa empresa. Así que aunque la espera fue larga pude aprovechar y hacer dos cosas importantes el mismo día. Si legaste hasta aquí gracias por leerme.

In the place there is a point of affiliation to the health system with one of the companies here in Colombia, it is a personal decision to register with that company or look for the one you like the most to receive medical attention, I registered at once with that company. So even though the wait was long I was able to take advantage and do two important things on the same day. If you made it this far, thanks for reading me.
