Million invigorating drops of waterfall Kozjak (Slovenia)

avatar

My dear Hive friends I want to show you one of the most romantic waterfalls that we have in Slovenia. It is not the biggest or the highest one, but it is the location that create a unique charm.

Not far away from the town of Kobarid, in the Soca valley, you will easy find the board signs to the Kozjak gorge and the waterfall. We have parked our car on the main parking place near the road from Kobarid to town Dreznica and start our walk along Soca river.

It is an easy walk that will take you only 30-40 minutes one way. The path is wide and on certain points offers amazing view of Kozjak stream and the Soca river.

The Kozjak stream springs high in the mountains, it flows through several smaller pools and on it way creates six waterfalls. Only two are accessible to visitors.

On our way to the main waterfall, we passed also the small Kozjak waterfall, which is 8 meters high. You have to be careful not to miss it 😊. To gate the best view, you have to make few steps off the path and go under the small stone bridge.

As we were approaching to The Big Kozjak the sound of falling water become lauder and lauder. The footpath was completed with small bridges and ended with a smaller wooden terrace. Now the sound of the falling water was very laud and when we looked up, there it was - Mr. Kozjak itself.

You will find yourself standing in a rocky amphitheatre, surrounded by tall and dark walls. In the middle there is a white, 15 meters high line of water that falls into a green pool.

If you will visit Kozjak waterfall, take your time and enjoy the invigorating energy of the nature. Perfect location to regenerate yourself.

PS - On your way back to the parking space walk to the Napoleon Bridge, built in 1750, that offers great view on the Soča river gorge.

Thank you for your compliments and for reading my post! I 've never been to New Zealand. I know people who have been there and they told me that there’re some similarities between the two regions,...

simply beautiful, here is a very similar place that I visited in a while, it is called the wine waterfall, although it is not as big as that place, but it is really beautiful. Unfortunately, the road is very deteriorated and there is little tourism in the area.
